about to have my first date with a man

Post by cronoserge (imported) »

thanks to the eunuch archive im starting to understand that there is more to sexual orientation than just straight or gay.

not sure where i fit on the spectrum, but experimenting.

i still struggle with the idea of more than two genders.

i think its because i was born a male and id as a male. i never had to struggle with gender issues, because of that i don't think i will ever truly understand those who do.

than again i used to only believe you were either straight or gay, and because of that i id myself as straight.

hope this makes sense, and hope i did not offend.

Labels are a tricky thing. They allow one to stop thinking about the details of whatever has the label and quickly decide how to treat it. An egg is an egg. I don't need to think about how this egg should be cooked, because I know about eggs.

But applying labels to people is often counterproductive. This person is black or Hispanic or gay. I know how to treat blacks or Hispanics or gays. I don't need to think about the person as an individual anymore. I don't need to know whether he likes music--or what kind of music he might like. I don't need to know whether he has a sense of humor--or what kind of jokes tickle him. I don't need to know what foods he likes or where he grew up or whether he's artistic or dreams of travel to far-away places or wants to be rich or likes to be alone with his thoughts. I don't need to know whether he reads books or likes sports. He's black or Hispanic or gay. That's all I need to know.

I wish we could get away from labels. I wish we could treat people, including ourselves, as individuals and not obsess about what label to put on them. Do you enjoy sex with women? Okay, fine. Do you think you'd enjoy sex with men, too? Okay, check it out if you want to. Did you enjoy it? Meh? Well, now you know something about what you like. Find something else you like. Stop worrying about what box you fit into. Life is about more than fitting into a box.

agree, but disagree.

we as humans label everything.

what is that black furry thing, it has a tail, its about 4 feet long, 2 feet tall, sharp teeth and claws, it makes a purrring sound when its happy, and hissing sound when its angry.

what type of creature is this?

Ummmm, a parakeet??

Seriously, I see your point, and I think you see mine. What you describe might be labeled as a cat, but I have a cat named Ralph. He is a whole lot smaller than what you describe--maybe two feet long with tail included--and he has no claws now. He does purr, but I've yet to hear him hiss. And he's not black. If you simply go by the "cat" label, you miss all that. You miss a lot of other things that are unique about Ralph: his penchant for jumping into laps, the gusto with which he attacks the light spot from a laser pointer, etc. You might assume he's afraid of dogs, but to the best of my knowledge, he's never seen a dog, except, perhaps, on TV.

Somebody famous--I forget who--once replied to the assertion that a human is a featherless biped and said that a plucked chicken fits that description, too.

I'm not arguing for abolishing nouns from the language, just arguing that l

i see your point, the individual is what matters.

your ralph and my kitty, while the same spices are two different personality's. something i have to thank about.

while i love sucking dick, i also enjoy going down on women.

this label thing is fucking annoying me.

but again im obsessed with labeling shit.

a product of ( im going to guess the Victorian age.)

(i want to thank the eu. without you i would have never been with a man. )( i enjoyed it.)

that cat and dog thing has more to do with the breed of the dog.

some dog's are breed to be varmint hunting types. they view cats as varmints.

other than that i have yet to see a dog attack a cat unless it was trained to do so.
