Captain America: The Winter Soldier

A MARVEL movie from the makers of AVENGERS, THOR, THOR - the Dark World, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and CAPTAIN AMERICA - the First Avenger. . .

Don't let the fact that it's a MARVEL movie scare you away.

This is a big, entertaining film with lots of action, big car chases, big bombs, big special effects, glowing shit, three huge-ass flying aircraft carriers that get a chance to fight each other and crash into the Hudson, and all sorts of hijinks. Escapist fun.

It turns out that HYDRA (the bad guys) has hidden inside of SHIELD (the semi-good guys) and they put out a hit on Nick Fury and then intend to take over the world. Guess who saves the day - - Captain America, the Falcon, Natasha aka The Black Widow, a number of less but just as familiar characters from the first Avengers movie.

It is satisfying fun if you don't expect to much. THE WINTER SOLDIER is Captain America's friend who they thought died. So there is some character development.

It's on STARZ right now and requires a subscription. SPARTACUS was on STARZ so I have that. Eventually it will hit the free cable channels. Look for it for kids and pizza popcorn nights.

Take Note: There are two "easter eggs" in the credits - one sets up "The Winter Soldier" for the future and the other sets up something I haven't figured out yet but there are two new power people in it -- one moves very fast and the other is telekinetic.

The next AVENGER Movie is - THE AGE OF ULTRON. coming this year, I think.
