BACKSTROM is a police procedural on Fox.

It stars Rainn Wilson from the office in a completely different role.

All I can say is that I haven't had as much fun since the first years of HOUSE MD.

Backstroke is a detective who profiles in a very strange and bizarre way. He is a walking insult. Can't eat junk food but wants it. Is vulgar, bitchy and lots of fun. His Division is for "special crimes" and is anything but a group of elite cops. They are the "dumping ground" of cops. You know how that goes under DILBERT and The Peter Principle? - - you have a bunch of screw-ups and you throw them all in one place to keep track of them and otherwise make sure they can't screw with the rest of the company or police.
