I know we killed the political board so don't go there, in the news thought you guys would find this interesting.
New ruling. "Broadband" definition now goes from 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps.

It's a big deal here that we have 6 mbps now.
Although I won't have it for too much longer, I'm afraid. Prices hikes are going to put this company here out of business. Once it hits $60/month, I'm done.

10Mbps? Gee, that's kind of like trying to book passage on the Titanic. They should have expanded that out this time to at least a gig.

Re: The FCC finally does something right
yep, we just told our Aloha Broadband to take a hike, 5g service that only gets that in the middle of the night, prime time it drops to 1. we called and bitched, they said "working fine at our end it must be something your doing." We just installed a new service, same price, about $80 a month, advertised at 12g we have been getting about 17 or 18 all day and evening. My roommate posted a bash on AB and already has many likes and people commenting that they have had a similar experience. The best way to bitch about a company is word of mouth and changing providers, when enough do that change happens.
BTW with this new change from the FCC we are still a years behind Europe and other countries.
What else is new?

They just finished installing all new fiber optic lines here for phone/tv/net, and now they find no one wants the new services.
Years ago, cable came through. That, or Dish/Direct TV.
So now, all the regular Internet and phone customers get price hikes to pay for it.
And it's a co-op. (I'm banned from co-op meetings for trying to incite a riot some years ago.)
It might cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I'll pay more for Verizon cellular if they jack my bill. Just out of pure spite and hate.

I use Infinity too. Phones, internet & TV. I'm not sure which level the internet is but I know it's not the lowest. It works OK most of the time but not always. It can slow down at certain times of the day, in the morning when the work day begins, mid afternoon when school gets out and different times on weekends. Maybe people are home and using it more. Just my highly uneducated techie mind guessing why it slows down at times.

Re: The FCC finally does something right
Our new provider is working out great and the old one has lost many customers due to the web. We started a thread about how bad the service was at Aloha Broadband and why we left, many people in our subdivision have also left for the same reasons.
The best way to change how a company operates is to stop using that product until they change, hit them where they hear the complaint, in their pocketbook because its always about the money.
