My new friend is suicidal. What should I do?

He wants to castrate himself as a method of suicide. I know I wrote that my post was suicidal, but I actually wanted to continue living. How can we show him hope in the world before it is too late? I know this world is so terrible right now, but because of that, it will only get to be better.

Well, it looks like the individual has a plan to bleed to death. Get them to a hospital that has psych evaluations. Most likely they will keep them there for three days even it they don't have insurance. Most lay folks are are not able to evaluate who is suicidal or not. White male in midlife age are most likely to attempt and succeed. Be very careful on what meds are arround and if there are any guns in the house too. nc

I don't want to commit suicide, I'm just indifferent if I die in the process. If I really wanted to kill myself, I have much quicker, painless methods readily at hand.

I understand. I was basically the same, except I would die when I should go to the hospital.
