Harry Potter
I don't know it you noticed but the various stations of NBC have been showing a "Diagon Alley" special about the new Harry Potter Attraction in Universal NBC.
If it were about a vegematic or a vacuum cleaner or a garden hose it would be called an "informercial" and be relegated to late night cheap spots.
It's just another way to seek HARRY POTTER . . . . . .
Harry Potter and the Secrets to a big bundle of cash
Harry Potter and your wallet
Harry Potter and the burning desires
Harry Potter and my last bloody nickel
Harry Potter and I'm Holding your firstborn as Prisoner for Ransom
Harry Potter and the Neverending Flow of Money

Re: Harry Potter
Well, ABC does the same thing with Disney parks...
We're trapped in a giant media conglomerate, I tell you!

Re: Harry Potter
Next weekend, the ABC-Family Channel is going to show all EIGHT of the potter films starting on Saturday and finishing on Sunday.
Think about the commercial buy on that weekend.

Re: Harry Potter
If I had kids around of that age where they fall in love with a character then I would be first one there.
However, the first set of kids are over 30 and the second set are all teens and nearly young adults.
That's too old for going to a theme park like this.
This is best done when the kids still believe and then you can watch enjoy the fun.
I still refer to the second movie and "Harry Potter and the Chamberpot of Secrets" . . .

I'm with P on this one, You can never have too much Harry Potter.
As the late Great George Wallace once said,
"Harry Potter today, Harry Potter tomorrow, Harry Potter forever."

Re: Harry Potter
If I'm home next weekend then the all weekend festival of Harry Potter will be on BUT I will not buy the COMCAST bundle of Harry Potter for $70 or $80 bucks. I guess that means I'm cheap.
In a way, I'm lamenting.
I would happily take the entire gang to Disney or Cedar Point (don't ask for the reasons for that choice) but half of them have deep pockets and short arms. That hurts. I know it's not charitable to say that but it's true.
Besides, colleges are in the near future and that is more important than Harry Potter world or Disney or Sandusky.
That will be my bit of joy - good educations.
With the events of the last ten months, I will tell you what gives me the greatest comfort.
My Mom saw four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren born. Saw one great grandchild graduate from HS, win a Hockey trophy, start college. What is important in life - to see family make a success of themselves.
So while Diagon Alley would be a silly thrill because I like the movie. I'll settle for making fun of it and take joy in other things that happen a lot slower and require patience.
