Thanks River, I am going through the mangle a bit. I am on some fairly hefty pain killers but I have realised that the more I take the less effective they are. They kinda creep up on you and before you know it your are taking them every 4 hours whether you need them or not! So i have been weaning myself of them and taking them as required..

The last week or so I have been feeling less pain generally and have been seeing a consultant privately to try and get some extra help.

Needless to say I am still breathing. My biggest problem is the H Pylori in my stomach is not allowing me to digest food properly and the pills don't seem to have killed it.

I had better catch up on other posts!

A bit of news. I have been diagnosed with a pitutiary microadenoma. This probably explains a number of my hormonal issues in recent years. Absolutely nothing to do with all the other pain.

I have been fighting a pituitary tumor for many years. Causes all kinds of problems because the the pituitary is sort of a master gland that regulates lots of things. Mine was finally diagnosed about 15 years ago and I am still around but not rid of it as it keeps coming back. Seems they just can't get it all. Hope you have better luck and a full recovery

Hi Feedback. Thanks for your input. How have you been treated surgery or drugs? My hormones are all over the place one minute I am hyper active then I am Hypo inactive and it is the same with everything else but Testosterone, I have dealt with that, but it was hypo hyper sexual for years. The problem with surgery is that it can damage the gland and that means tablets and injections for life. I am being monitored for hormone levels regularly and hopfully they will figure out how best to treat it.

I don't have any good advice other than to be well in any way you can manage it.

Hi. Jcat. I have had surgery more than once and radiation more than once as well. I have very little left of the pituitary gland and have been on full hormone replacement for over 15 years. This is not just replacing T but all the other things the pituitary is supposed to do. If I can't take my pills every day I have to go to the hospital and have them intravenously. It is a juggling act between 4 main medications and requires monitoring every 6 months or soner if I am not feeling well. I do know people who had there problem caught earlier than mine was and had surgery and have had no more problems of any kind. Hope yours works out that way.

Hi Feedback, I really feel for you. This little pea size gland has so much power! I am waiting to go and see the endocrinologist to discuss my treatment plan. He has already spelt out the risks of surgery and I think they are advising a monitoring period before they take radical steps. It sounds like you are not having a good time of it. Big Hug.

How long were you ill before you were correctly diagnosed? What incorrect diagnoses did you get?
