One is that in most removal, most of the clitoris is actually left intact internally and that the organ is quite extensive. The remainder of the clitors allows much sensation. The other side of that is that the nerves get destroyed and that the person cut does not get to masturbate. Sometimes scare tissue prevents sensation. Sometimes the cutting is deep enough to cut the nerves. Other find this not to be the case.
Another part of the debate involves whether the woman finds other ways to get pleasure with the remainder of her sexual organs. Some women post having responses left. Many deny it. Some cutters insist that cutting does not stop a woman from masturbating.
