Growing up on a farm was exactly how I became interested in castration. I can relate to you. Although, it began as a fantasy it has turned into somewhat of an obsession. I don't know that banding the lambs made any long-term change in me, but it was interesting. The little green bands went on so easily and then each spring there were little green bands scattered round the hillside! It seemed strange that they didn't seem upset by the procedure -after the first few minutes. As far as I know we never lost an animal to banding. Did I ever think of being banded? I don't think so, even though the bands were about the right size and could have been done just as easily; it was just not interesting then.
