Attention those that were at MoM 2013

Attention, attention. Hehehe. Say, for those that were at MoM 2013 especially the ones that were at the restaurant at the river where the cake was lost, just wanted you to know that the restaurant moved and is under a different name.

Apparently the rent on the waterfront was too high so they moved directly behind the old place on to the main street and they reopened today after a 2 month moving experience. The menu is the same though some of the names have been changed. Gem and I went there for opening and were given a basket of homemade potato chips with homebrewed "Jerk Catsup". We think it was a mix of tabasco, horseradish, pickling spice and regular catsup but was incredibly good and had no 'heat'.

For dinner we both had "The 214" which was a juicy medium cooked burger with horseradish, pickles, onions, tomato jam, bacon, gouda and chedder cheeses on a homemade bun.

Interestingly enough, they tore out part of the old place and moved it to the new. Some of the tables appear to have been made from chunks of the old bar and they sawed out the mural then sliced it up and framed each section then hung it in the new place. Over the bar are light fixtures they made from steel buckets. Drinks were served in mason jars.

Waitress said she had to get there at 4:30 am to prep food for their 6:30 breakfast opening.

Man, what a fine restaurant.......

Do they still have their Friday night fish fry? I wrote on Yelp that it was the best fish and chips that I've had after tastings on three continents – including TheFraj's favorite place in England.

I've already reserved the same motel rooms that Cainanite, Paolo and I had last year. Time to start your planning....

I was a MOM virgin last year and enjoyed all of it. The best part was the camaraderie and getting to know everyone. Talula was a great host and the food was plentiful. Thanks again to Jesus for the fine wine. I rode in Jesus' rental van along with a few more of you to the restaurant by the river. Everybody at that big table seemed to enjoy themselves.

I hope I'm able to attend again this year. Some recurring health problems and plans to sell our house may get in the way.
