Thoughts on the Burdizzo!
Having lurked on this website for many years, I have finally got the balls (though hopefully not for much longer) to sign up and become a member. Many of the threads that I have followed over the years have been about the Burdizzo, and would like to add my own thoughts as to why this method of castration often fails. Usually the reasons given are either that the human spermatic cord is not as brittle (or some other attribute) as that of other mammals e.g. cattle (surely given the nature of this forum someone has an unwanted human spermatic cord or two, that could be used to determine the truth or otherwise of this conjecture), or that the clamp was not kept closed long enough. However I would to suggest an alternative explanation; for this method of castration to work the spermatic cord simply needs to be sufficiently crushed so as to stop all blood flow to the testicle, whether this happens when the clamp is closed just depends upon the gap size. If the gap is too large nothing is going to happen and no harm is done, however if the gap size is too small not only will the spermatic cord be crushed and the blood flow to the testicle disrupted, but the scrotum severely damaged as well, perhaps even requiring surgery to correct. If this analysis is correct then using a 19 Burdizzo is unlikely to work as this size has been optimised for cattle that have a much thicker scrotum and spermatic cords than humans, so try using a 9 instead. Of course what is really required is a Burdizzo that has a gap that is optimised for use on humans, hence I would suggest an experimental device with a variable gap, plus a large number of volunteers that this device could be used on to determine the optimum gap size.

Re: Thoughts on the Burdizzo!
I have a friend on a another forum who has successfully used a burdizzo. I think he was successful because he left it clamped for over 30 minutes. He did this each side one month apart and that was six years ago his nuts shrivelled up died. I think that the pain level is so high that few can endure that length of time clamped. It is probablly not the best method.

Interesting thoughts. Question. Once you have a dead testicle what do you do with it? Surely it would become necrotic and cause problems.

They atrophy and can be absorbed by the body. That is what happened in this case. The body does absorb dead tissue. In some cases the testes simply stop working but are not completely dead tissue. I think there is a difference.

Re: Thoughts on the Burdizzo!
An important point to note is that the interior (excluding inside the GI tract and lungs) of the human body is a sterile environment, so unless the integrity of the scrotum is breached (a hole in the scrotum) by the Burdizzo, the testicles once deprived of their blood supply will simply atrophy and be dealt with by the immune system. In other words gangrene of the testicles cannot occur as these pathogens are not normally found inside the body unless introduced by the clamping process. However it should also be noted that before clamping takes place the Burdizzo should be sterilised and the scrotum cleaned, so as to minimise the risk of infecting the scrotum itself with pathogens such as Fournier's gangrene, as the clamp when closed usually breaches the skin barrier.

Re: Thoughts on the Burdizzo!
I was castrated 3 years ago by burdizzo but I was under pain killers and could not feel much. There was damage to the scrotum but never did it get infected. The guy who did my castration already did 2 other guys before me so he knew what he was doing and the thing I remember the most was when he had each cord centered was how fast he slammed shut the burdizzo. After it was done my dead testicles did slowly disappear and I'm left with an empty scrotum, also my penis shrunk to less them 1/2 the size it was before my castration

You were so lucky to find that guy. The Burdizzo was my favoured means of castration but three attempts all ended in failure.

Would you mind answering these questions about your experience with the Burdizzo:
1) How long did it take for your testicles to completely disappear?
2) Was the damage to your scrotum permanent or did the marks etc. also slowly disappear?

After the burdizzo was used on me my testicles became really hard but after 3-4 days they got really soft and it took about 3 months for my testicles to fully disappear
My scrotum did bleed a little but did not get infected and after a month you couldn't even tell the burdizzo was used
