What are your experiences with finasteride (Proprecia/Proscar)

Hi everyone, I am curious to learn what others have experienced while on Finasteride. For me I am starting into my 3rd year on it to prevent baldness. In the beginning I was taking a quarter od a 5mg each day. With in the first few month I was starting to notice my penis was starting to lose some feeling. By the end of the first year I no longer had spontaneous erections which I enjoy as i've always hated them., My head hair was thickening ( I had gone from about 50 hairs ""before starting"" in the basin after brushing my hair to a normal shedding amount of 6 to 10). My body hair was also diminishing. Over the next year I cut my dose-age back to a sixth of a 5mg, as I figured my body mass is small 115 to 120 lbs when I cut back I noticed a surge in erections and a major does of pink fog for the first month then they stopped . So now 5weeks into my third year no hard erections maybe one a week , only semi hard ones in the mornings and my penis is quite numb feeling I can get semi erect by touching but have to be very turned on to cum properly and takes a while to be able orgasm which most times will only now ooze out . My hair has Thickened in the crown to maybe full thickness and the front of my scalp. My body hair is less I only have shave my legs every 2 or 3 days now instead of 1 to 2, Hair on chest, arms, shoulders is less which I now only epilate once a month ; I no longer have a line of hair going from my pubes to my belly button

Your experience echos mine, hotrata..I never get anything resembling an erection, and my penis has shrunken to about 2-3 inches from 7-8 inches..I can still reach orgasm...but I have to really work on it....About a year ago I stopped a daily regimen of 4 mgs of estradiol and a varying dosage of spironolactone...which I had maintained for about one year prior...I have been taking 5 mgs daily of finasteride for about 2-3 years in addition to all this (for swollen prostate)...About a month ago , I restarted a very light estrogen regmen of 2 mgs daily, with no spiro (it makes me pee like a racehorse)..My libido is still there, although slightly diminished...All for the good..I've had a strong desire to be castrated for many years...Maybe this year...I'm 68 years old...Getting to the age where I'm going to have to crap or get off the pot....Be well Jackie
