Not many people do live in Hawaii. At least not the big island you get service where it presents its self. If everything happens the way we would like it to then I would be living off the grid in a Yurt.
Glad to have you back,;now from Hawaii, with some of the conveniences of rural area living.
Where I live, there is, as yet, no dependable fast Internet access. A smartphone with the right cellphone company can provide a connection that works when the cellular network is not very busy, but the monthly data allowance is very small. I still use dial-up for large downloads, provided that the source of what I am downloading allows for continuing from where the dial-up failed instead of starting over.
The best available wifi where I live is also at one of the county libraries, the closest of which is a twenty mile or so round trip...
Country living is great, except when an urban amenity seems useful.
