My son is a good driver and he drove most of the way, of the 1900 miles I drove about 200, as for mishaps none to speak of, no new scratches on the truck, we had a few nasty areas with traffic that I wish would have stayed off the road for the day but all in all it was a good trip.

I have really enjoyed my visit with my three sons, one of then I had not seen in over 10 years. Today they introduced me to golf, Frisbee golf. when we were done we went shopping for a gift then dinner, I fell asleep right after, that disk golf is very tiring.

Like I said, tomorrow we turn in the cargo and trailer, woot woot, then we will head over to Jesus's house to spend the rest of the day and the next.

The best part of this trip is that when we packed up and left Wisconsin it was -18 with a wind chill, it was bad weather and cold all the way to Iowa, then it was cold in the 20's and 30' until California, Now I am in shorts, life is good.

Next week this time the weather will be in the 80's for those of you not counting that's over 120 deg rise in temp, bring on the daily rains.

It looks like River will be bringing a bit of rain with him. It actually drizzled a bit last night – just enough to dampen the driveway. River & Co. are due to arrive this afternoon, just ahead of the first bit of real rain in almost two months.

And, this is the height of our normal rainy season. Average to this point in the rain year is over 23 inches. Rainfall to date this year: 2.08 inches. Expected tonight and tomorrow – about 0.2 inches. We'll take whatever we can get – and thank River for bringing it from Wisconsin.

The rain will probably chase our cats inside to meet Nelly....

It was a long day, we never made it to jesus's house we did get our cargo loaded in a container and turned in the u-hall. We also made it north of the bay area so we will finally make it tomorrow.

I am tired and going to bed soon.

It has been some 47 hours since we last heard from River.

Does anyone know where our River DEAR is ?

I do hope he is safe from any unforeseen moisture on California's usually dry roads.

Has he flown on to Hawai'i?

Patt and I are in Santa Cruz for the next two days. We spent yesterday and last night with Jesus yes our Jesus and his wonderful wife. Sunday we will make our way back to Oakland for the night we fly Monday morning.

Does River have a cell phone?

My son and I left Salt Lake Jan 14 took Amtrack to New York and drove a 2012 Huricane Sandy wreck back to Salt Lake arriving Jan 21. Weather was a worry.
