I've just read the first two chapters of Charlie's new story "The Flying Eunuchs".
This one promises to become another EA classic.
Thanks, Charlie!

Re: The Flying Eunuchs
Charlie's at it again. An incredible story populated with characters you really care about. Are Steve and Jeff gay or straight? Like those around them in the story, we've decided that it really doesn't matter. We learn, incidentally and well into the story, that one is Black and one is White. It hardly matters which is which, and certainly doesn't matter in how we feel about them. They're a good bit younger than my kids, but I'd certainly welcome them both into my family at any time. We hope we have kids who turn out like the two of them.
I hope we're going to see more of Becky and Cathy as the story progresses as well. Becky is already developed as someone we care about, even though she's peripheral to the main story line so far. Cathy is still a stick-figure, but there are possibilities for an important role for her as well, depending on where Charlie is taking us.
If you know ANYONE who is depressed about life, give him or her any of Charlie's stories to read. The main characters, the ones we grow to love and care about (and he creates them such that we DO come to love and care about them), always face horrendous adversity and overcome it through force of character and the love and support of those around them. No matter what life slings at them, they come through it stronger than they were before. As readers, we come away feeling that we, too, can face adversity and prevail.

Re: The Flying Eunuchs
Thanks, Ringlo and Jesus.
As a result of your comments, Jesus, I realized that I had really not done Becky and Cathy justice, so I added another chapter which is probably not enough, but at least I didn't just leave them hanging. I had a lot of fun writing this one, living the life of a carrier pilot in my fantasies. Those guys really are a special breed!
