Re: Hawaii, the move
I was thinking of Henny Youngman but Youngman stole jokes from everyone. So did Milton Berle.
I do remember Red Skeleton doing that and seagull or bird jokes -- was that gertrude the seagull?

Re: Hawaii, the move
Good morning passengers, welcome to Hawaiian Air flight 37 1/2.
If Look out the left of the plane and you will see -- the pacific ocean. If you look out the right side of the emplane you will see the Pacific Ocean. If you could get into the cockpit you would see The Pacific Ocean ahead of us. Remember it's a big ocean. It's an astounding ocean. It's an amazingly astounding and awe-inspiring ocean. I'm in awe all the time of the Pacific Ocean, aren't you?

Heclif was the other not sure I spelled it right.
Go to Google earth and look at hawaii, its in the middle of a whole lot of nothing but ocean. You fly through two time zones to get there and its all over water.

Heathcliff -- Now I remember the name.
Gertrude and Heathcliff
those were funny jokes.
There was an art form of funny but non-vulgar jokes going around.
It was an older time when there were two sets of jokes -- one set very funny and clean and one set rather funny and vulgar.
And when you get to Hawaii they will say "welcome, if you look to the left you will see Pacific Ocean. If you look to the right you will se the Pacific ocean… etc…

Once there you can go round and round the island and go nowhere.

Re: Hawaii, the move
>>Oh, look at this --
>>There's even a tiny bit of snowcap (or white volcanic ash if my glasses are dirty)
It might not feel like it when you're standing in the middle of a crowded Waikiki beach, but the Hawaiian archipelago is actually the most isolated population center on Earth. It is roughly 2,400 miles to the closest landmass (California), which means -- as the below photos illustrate -- you really are all by your lonesome in the Pacific.
NASA Astronaut Rex J. Walheim took these amazing images during a 2008 Space Shuttle Mission to the International Space Station and recently shared them with the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) on the Big Island. Hawaii's isolation has made it an epicenter of scientific and environmental studies. It boasts the largest cluster of telescopes and observatories in the world thanks to its low levels of air and light pollution.
Yep, looks pretty ideal to us.

Re: Hawaii, the move
It was a good flight starting out flying over the golden gate bridge then we were over water to Honolulu some 5
hours later. We got Nelly through doggy intake then on to hill, got a car met the landlord moved into the house and sleep.
Sleep is something that both part and plan on more of, this was a long long trip.
