I've worn a beard for a VERY long time (since 1970 - that's over 30 years) and wore a 'stash before that ('66-'70).

There was a short window in the early/mid '90's where I did not wear face fur as I had shaved it off to see what I looked like (I had no idea).

BTW: Nail polish can be a problem, but ladie's shoe styles aren't. ;) Heck, buying men's shoes is a bigger problem for me with small, narrow feet. Most men's shoe departments/shops start one or two sizes too large for me, and too wide. I usually wear women's shoes in a unisex style because that's what fits well. :D

Your endocrine status/treatment makes sense to me. Of course, if you are off T and on E--and you are a nullo--you have pretty well transitioned youself from male to female.

May I assume that the beard is a statement that you like to be viewed as still on the male end of the spectrum? [Beats having to worry about nail polish and shoe styles, doesn't it?]

Well, I am a eunuch, off testosterone, and taking estrogen. But I do NOT regard myself as female, do NOT regard myself as transitioning, and solidly identify myself as, and dress as, a male.

So why the estrogen? To supress the hot flashes and (as Tomas noted) to hopefully ward of osteoporsosis. Currently on 2.5 mg of Premarin, taken every morning after breakfast.

Do I have some mild feminization, including gynecomastia. Yes. Is it a big deal in my life? No. I do not wear female clothing, I do not wear nail polish, I do not wear high heeled shoes, and I don't wear panties.

O yes, and I shave once a week, which is all I need to do nowadays.

My avatar was taken last February. If I ever do an update, I am sure it will show me to still be a male.

O yes, and in case you were wondering, I started the estrogen after 13 months as a eunuch not on any kind of HRT. I had developed "The Eunuch Calm", which did include "mood swings" like crying jags. After 5 months on estrogen, I have not noted any personality changes whatsoever that could be attributed to the estrogen.

Hi Andrew,

I noticed that you said, "I do not wear female clothing." But then how come you wear a kilt (which. I recall has nothing under it)??

Seriously though, since you are so active here, what can we do to convince you to update your photograph--just for some diversity?

On the one hand, a kilt is NOT a female garment.

On the other hand, I am not quite sure why you think we need some diversity. As I recall it, I was the first to have an avatar that showed someone as they really were.

πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡ πŸ™‡

On the gripping hand, I would like to have a new avatar, to include both me and Pearly the cat. But I don't have a digital camera and have no idea how I would send a picture to BBoy anyhow. My current avatar was taken by someone else, and posted on the CORFLU 19 web site.

Perhaps somebody in the EA, with digital camera and a way to send pictures to Bboy, could stop by my apartment in LA and take a few pictures, to be rotated as my new avatars. Just a thought. I think Pearly would go along. Pearly, what say you?

Those look rather bulky and uncomfortable. Why not just wear a skirt as they look a lot more comfortable?

Actually they are comfortable, fit better, and are much more durable than any skirt I've run into. :D

Some of the Utilikilts are rather bulky and stiff, but not all are.

Doesn't having a beard tend to scratch when you kiss someone?

Actually, It has seldom caused any discomfort while kissing, but it has caused thighburns . . .

I tend to keep it a little longer and very well conditioned so it it smooth and silky rather than bristly. I've only rarely gotten any complaints or left any marks.

I love those kilts. I am surprised that I haven't seen them on the streets here, living as a do in New Scotland (i.e., Nova Scotia). Thanks, Thomas, for pointing me to that website.
