We did the China-US flight again a couple of months back; it was the quietest ever.

Not surprising, as I had my knees crammed over my ears for all 13 hours!

I'm still unfolding.... :(

With all of this discussion about "NOT FLYING"

I wondered if there were any opinions about

approving CELLPHONE use on airplanes?

I so look forward to that flight in February from the west coast to Hawaii, for joy.

I would never willingly take a flight with cell phone use allowed. Hell, I upbraided a woman at the doctor's office the other day for her loud sharing. There are just times and places where they are not OK, and that includes texting.

I've been subjected to various indignations when I've flown -- putdown searches in the middle of the concourse, arbitrary seat changes, middle seats, no washrooms, screaming and/or seat kicking kids, and a person reading YAOI and snorting at it while sitting next to me (that's Japanese porn FYI) …

Worse, I lost four friends and another nine coworkers in a single plane crash outside Pittsburgh. I still fly.

However, I really don't want to listen to anyone's cell-phone calls. I have enough issues of my own. I don't need theirs.

The Doo Dah Parade is sort of a counter culture Rose Parade. The part I still remember was the Precision Lawnmower Marching Band. I propose something similar. We all fly to California for the MOMA MOI (Meeting of the Members at Moi's) and put on a Precision Cell Phone Marching Event. Complete with Valley Girl speak, wireless charging and aluminum helmets.
