Will surgical castration remove sexual desires completely?

Post by Jorge2008 (imported) »

I'm currently on a chem castration drug (Triptorelin, a GnRH agonist) which is said to be very powerful, more powerful than Androcur or Depo Provera. Yet I can easily get erect and I masturbate twice a month. And I still yearn for sex, although less so than before. I am now considering physical castration with the aim of eradicating all sexual attraction to as great extent as possible. What are the experiences of guys who have let themselves physically castrated? How much of the sex drive still remains?

After 10+ years, the desire for sex is non existent, none.

Remember, each person is different.

Yes it depends on the person. I still have erotic dreams and masturbate occasionally. I was castrated in December 1997 and have never used any HRT. Then in 2010 I had a relationship with a man. I have always been the submissive partner but he learned how to make me orgasm. While I still fantasize about sex the drive to find someone to fulfill those desires are gone.

I find it interesting that some things I used to enjoy I now find rather disgusting.

This is a very clear case of YOUR MILEAGE WILL VARY. The results of the Eunuch Archive survey were that among those who had been surgically castrated and had no hormone replacement therapy of any sort, the range was from complete extinction of all sexual desire and activity to an INCREASE in sexual desire and activity. Admittedly, the number with any increase was small, but it is always something to contemplate. A large majority had a decrease, but fewer had an extinction of desire.

I am surgically castrated (for 8 years, but currently only one year with no T), and I would say that my sex drive has been reduced by about 90% since I stopped taking T. Whether there will be any further reductions I can't say (I wouldn't be opposed to complete elimination), but I am pretty happy with what I have already seen.

I also masturbate about twice a month, but it is more for fun rather than any real need to do it.

I have heard many people say that your effects on chemical will be stronger than with surgical. Have you had your T level tested? It might be something worth looking into just to see where you're at.

There are a lot of factors that affect sexual desire. Given the opportunity and the right person it can be strong. In a "same-old" is will not. 30million men in this country have erectile disfunction and take a med to get it up. Older men will have both a declining ability whether castrated or not and a less desirable pool of partners to draw from. So, yes your mileage will vary as they say. And, yes you will be less obsessed with having to have sex, but in the right situation, your interest and ability can seem almost what most would call "normal" for you. There aren't really many absolutes in this regard.

Considering how much the mileage may vary, I contribute this with just that caution.

Sugically castrated, and happily so. Also married and also happy.

With us, it is whether the T is replaced to "normal" levels. If so, I have all the desires usually associated with T; without it, after a while erections and such thoughts go away.

Both states feel good but different.

-Well, did that help? Probably not much. :(
