2 kinds of eunuch -and a "third". Anyonone recognize themselves?
I came across this, quoted from:
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Urology/me ... how/732640
"..... referred by the famous Dr. Wilfred Thesiger, the famous british doctor and adventurer...
.... are mentioned 2 kinds of eunuchs : the "complete shaved ones", without penis and testicles and the conventional type, who had only his testicles or scrotums removed.
However there was a third kind, not very common, but who also could be found: was the eunuch with testicles but without penis, used when the rulers wanted a male with all his strength and vigor, for very hard work, but sexually useless. Technically speaking they couldn't be called eunuchs, because eunuchs must do not have balls.
At the begining, for that making, they used to cut off the entire penis, at the level of the abdomen, but as the mortality was very high (about 70%) and the subjects had serious difficulties to pee, creating kidney problems, they invented, at that time, a new method to do it ( which became used also for the making of a similar to the " complete shaved ones", but without loosing his male strength ) :
They cut off and removed the entire sleeve of skin of the penis, just close to the head until the base of the shaft, inlayed the unskined shaft inside the abdomen and sewed ( suturing ) the corona glans (glands) at the level of the abdomen, leaving outside the body only the penis head ( the glans (glands) ) - reason why was also called "knob surgery"; this way, that tip of the penis continued useful to pee, but useless for sex or intercourse, due to his short length, and the mortality was reduced to zero ( it was only a kind of a radical circumcision, shortening the organ to his maximum ).
Some doctors says that a such operation is still done today in Mauritania and Sudan, where slaves and eunuchs are often sold in hidden markets, exactly as were in the past."
Well, which are you and which would you like to be? Did the good Dr Thesiger miss something?

While absent a pair of balls, I could never be of a "third" gender. I have often thought of a penectomy; I could never, if so inclined finally, allow anything to remain. I will reserve my flight to Thailand for another time.

Personally, I am of the first type. And I have deep suspection that the third kind is mostly imaginary. Never heard about such a practice in any ancient society. Such "eunuch" should be extremely dangerous creature, easily ready for sexual violence.

3rd one real? Sure! Take a look at the opening reference on this board Penectomy Discussion > Radically tight... Figure 7, last picture shows it clearly. Don't know about dangerous, but Butterflyjack says he wants one. I guess we have to be extra careful with that bfj....

I would most likely fall into Category 3. What happened is that I'd had a silicone penile implant (at the time drugs such as Viagra did not yet exist) and suffered serious staph infection. When I required emergency surgery for its removal -- on Christmas Eve -- my penis was left horribly mutilated. All internal tissues, both corpora and the erectile tissues, had been removed and the outside of my penis was left terribly mutilated. A later plastic surgery was required and most of the shaft was removed. What's been left all this time is very much like a large clit, and devoid of all nervous sensation.
Though initially I sought surgeons who could reconstruct my penis, or even fashion a new penis, I found that was fruitless. After that I sought out surgical castration but was turned down by several surgeons who saw me as a high risk patient due to having had a history of stroke.
In the years that followed I have lived a Hell, since I have all my sexual desires and no ability to perform. Yes, I am skilled at oral sex, etc., but no woman has lasted long with no ability to have erections or to orgasm. A good number have found themselves very frustrated when they have performed oral sex on what's left of my penis and I don't respond. They take it as if I have rejected them. Somehow not one has made peace with the fact that I have no physical ability to respond.
In my ideal situation I would find myself castrated, at peace with lowered to no libido, and a happy platonic female companion. I don't really think that's ever going to happen though I did try and try over and over to achieve that goal.

I meant I doubt this kind of eunuchs was in practical use in any of ancient societies. It just happens time to time.

I wonder if you had a spinal that would alleviate the worry about your history of strokes. If you look hard enough for a urologist to castrate you and for a female who wants a platonic relationship, at your age, you should be successful. Good luck.

Dionysis was the child of Zeus with sparagmos (wounded in the penis). He had three other siblings that were sexually "abnormal". These were Agdistis, Adonis, and Athena. Translated from ancient Greek their names would be Dio/nysis -god/forsaken, Ag/distis -without distinction, A/donis -without "gifts", and A/thena -without a theme. I take it that Dionysis was the one that "has to use his finger" for insemination (not a good thing), Agdistis would be a born-eunuch, beardless, high voice, never bald, pre-pubertal, Adonis simply has no balls (testicles) but not from birth, and Athena is a female without any ability whatsoever to conceive or to have sex in the normal manner of a woman. Ironically Agdistis was the oldest of these but would commonly be referred to as "the younger" due to appearance. This is also the one that would be dressed as a female whereas Athena would often be dressed as a male.

I am not so sure that a person minus his balls but taking HRT can really be called a Eunuch. I have my thoughts on this. With HRT, the T is still in his body.

Even a eunuch not taking HRT produces a small amount of natural testosterone. Is an amputee who uses a prosthesis no longer considered an amputee? While using TRT may ameiiorate some of the negative side effects of having low natural T in the body, it is not a direct replacement. There are still both physical and mental changes that cannot be reversed for a person without testicles, i.e. a eunuch, even when he uses HRT.
