Is it really that fast?

I just read an article that says that says that in their study 2/3 of men castrated (and 80% of those over 50) reported that their libido and potency were extinguished immediately or soon after castration.

I previously believed that it was more of a slow fading and took up to 6 months for that to happen. Although I think faster would be better, I find it hard to believe that it would not take at least a few weeks.

I would like to hear from those here who can tell me more of their experience with their libido after castration.

Heim and Hursch23 reviewed the data of 89 interviewed castrated individuals in the Langelüddeke sample. Sixty‐five percent (n = 58) reported that their libido and potency were extinguished immediately or soon after castration, 17 percent (n = 15) reported significant fading followed by the extinction of sex drive, and 18 percent (n = 16) stated that they were still able to have sexual intercourse more than 20 years after castration. Of the 15 castrated individuals over the age of 50 (aged 51–70), 80 percent (n = 12) described extinction of potency soon after castration, 7 percent (n = 1) described potency as obviously weaker, and 13 percent (n = 2) described potency as still present or weakened slightly. For those in the 31‐ to 40‐year‐old age group (n = 28), 64 percent (n = 18) experienced extinction of potency soon after castration, 21 percent (n = 6) described obvious weakening of potency, and 14 percent (n = 4) stated that potency was still in effect or slightly weakened. A small percentage of the sample had somatic sequelae. Nine percent (n = 8) had subcutaneous fat tissue similar to that of women, 10 percent (n = 9) had “strong” gynecomasty, and 25 percent (n = 22) developed “weak” gynecomasty. Fifty‐one percent (n = 45) of the individuals had soft or more compliant skin, 17 percent (n = 15) had weaker beard growth, and 66 percent (n = 59) had reduced body hair. Only one of the individuals developed osteoporosis. Twenty percent (n = 18) stated that the operation had a positive influence on their lives, with reports of feeling calmer and more balanced; however, 30 percent (n = 27) complained that since the operation they were more depressed and felt inadequate, isolated, and passive. Fifty‐two percent (n = 46) said they were content with the outcome of the operation, while 26 percent (n = 23) were ambivalent. The remaining 22 percent (n = 20) expressed marked discontent.

I would like to hear from those here who can tell me more of their experience with their libido after castration.

I have noticed a continued decline in sexual interest to the point it is only transient now, despite being on a low dose of testosterone since my castration. I still get brief morning erections; however, without any desire for sex. I never have any spontaneous erections during waking hours. It is impossible for me to think about sex or dream about it now, even if I try. It is a liberating feeling of not being influenced by a sex drive anymore.

Wow, I'm fascinated by the number of men castrated in the study. They cite several thousand in the various countries. Wow.

It's a little hard for me to comment on how quickly your libido will fade, we are all different.

I was castrated 3 times. The 1st was chemical (estrogen and Spiro for a year)...then came the burdizo, and surgical a couple weeks ago.

Since I was chemically castrated first, my "T" level lowered slowly. After chemical castration, my "T" level was measured twice, 2-weeks apart. the 1st time it was "7" and the 2nd time it was "14". The doc prescribed "T" shots.... Hell, I had just spent more than a year trying to rid my body of testosterone and she wanted to pump it back in.... lol. The "boys" were non-functional but still there although they were smaller. I had no libido...and it sort of creped up on me.

Pre-castration I couldn't control what I thought constantly (driving down the Interstate, walking in a mall, whatever) I was flooded with sexual thoughts. Post-castration, that's gone...for me, that's my "Eunuch calm", and I love it.

It doesn't matter whether it takes 2 days or 2 months...for me...I'm very happy with how I now feel.

Mine dropped really fast over a few weeks and now with just a small T top up its still almost none existent, I may get a couple of morning risers but I never really get any urges for anything its great and just what I wanted.

In my experience with HRT, checking blood levels along the way.

I know for a fact that (for my body)

If I stopped HRT for 35 days I would be close to 0 T

penis shrinkage happened around the 25th day (or at least that is when I noticed it) a resumption of higher T seemed to return it to the previous size.

Libido is not such an issue for me now with a maintenance dose of T

Hi Jackie,

All in all it's going really well. there have been a few "hickups" with post-op recovery..a couple stitches pulled out before healing... my fault for not taking it easier.. I drove back from Detroit to Cincy a day earlier than recommended by Dr. Arnkoff. I came back to work a full week earlier than I should have....so healing has been slower and probably more "uncomfortable" than it could have been....BUT.... I've VERY happy with the castration...I feel wonderful...and would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm anxious to see how it will look once its healed and smooth with barely any sac. I'm just sorry I didn't have it done years ago. Since my actual "castration" was done over a year ago (Chem/HRT produced nearly zero "T" level...and burdizzo (applied HARD and held for 10min ea side) crushed nerves so testicles had no feeling)... the surgical castration and sack removal was primarily to get the junk out from between my legs.. My Mistress monitors and controls my hormone levels as needed to get the results She desires. She proved to me that a eunuch can maintain erection and orgasm (very intensly). Continued breast development is the goal now that She has my nuts in a jar, preserved. i'm much happer with Her having them than me.

I have much to be happy for this Thanksgiving...not the least is my Mistress.

Yes it's the lost of Testosterone replacement. Testicles make about 90% 0f the testosterone and the half live of testosterone is only about 1 week. Very little testosterone will cause lost of libido and potency. But there are some which do not lose their libido and potency, but they no-longer can farther children.

My libido left with my testicles. I didn't want sex or get an erection for over 3 months after I was castrated and it was several weeks after increasing my TRT before I got my first one which was only a simi-erection. Penis shrinkage was fairly rapid, I noticed it within the first month and it continued to shrink rapidly for the 3 or 4 months it took to get back my testosterone and erections back to normal. It is still not what it used to be.
