Story Count
While there were no new stories submitted to the Archive last week, there is still a wealth of reading material available. There are now 7,845 stories posted, both new and reformatted from the old Story Board. That means that if you set out to read 20 stories per day, it would take more than a year to read through the Fiction Archive.
434 (5.5%) of the stories are in German about the percentage of German-speakers on the Archive. A total of 7.6% are in languages other than English, with French, Spanish, and Chinese being the next most frequent non-English languages.

Re: Story Count
For a lot of people enough will never be enough.
I keep hearing about the lack of a good search function, but you CAN search for stories via their tags. When the list of stories with those tags comes up, you need only hover your pointer over the title, and you get the author's description of the story. Those are features we never had before, and I personally find it very easy to search for what I am looking for. Sometimes I discover stories I never read which turn out to be real gems.
The stories are all universally formatted now. Prior to our change over much of the archive was unreadable. We have recovered stories we thought were beyond salvation. These are massive improvements.
The biggest thing we need right now is more authors willing to publish their stories. That is it. I get a bit depressed when we go a week without any new stories, but what can you do? I can't write them all.
I have asked time and again for the readers of the stories to lure authors back to us by posting reviews, and sending feedback, but very few readers ever bother. Many authors get discouraged by the lack of feedback. I know I do at times. You want to know your effort had some kind of an impact.
The bottom line is we need better feedback for the authors. If we let them know people appreciate them, we will have more authors willing to take their time to write new stories. But of course, as an administrator all I can do is edit and publish the stories. It will take the readers to attract more stories by commenting.
If people are unwilling to do that then things will remain as they are.

And giving the author some feedback has never been easier!
You can write out a comment (which I am sure is very much appreciated) or at the very least rate the story with the star feature. These are things folks wanted and we got it for them
When you read a story, please offer feedback!

That would be good if there would be tags like: oral sex, animals, genital eat, adults, teens...etc. So not just the few tags like now. It would be easier to find stories for my taste. Now I really miss a proper search function...
But you probably cant re-tag the entire archive like above... so we need an option for searching among stories.
The "quick peek" is a good idea anyway.
Re: Story Count
That's it.
I've been patient, and it's run out.
The next person who posts about a search function, you and your entire ISP will be gone for good.

As Cainite wrote (above) I thought everyone who read stories knew they could do that. I like that feature because I can get the synopsis and then make a decision about reading it. It is a lot more fun to go through the index of stories and check each one you think will interest you. I think I am about to fill up my "favorites" list.

I suppose you talking about me
So before you ban my entire country... What about tagging things like I mentioned? Or rules for the synopsis/description?
For example this story: [LINK] (https://eunuchworld.co/s622) the description is: "Two rapists meet their fate."
Its almost nothing. Ok, I see the tags [Nullification] [Penectomy] [Snuff] [Straight] [Testicles] so 2 man will lose their penis... but this entire site and archive is about someone loose his penis/balls! My God!
I think you should make rule for descriptions... because most of them tells nothing about the story like "A men loses his penis", "meet his faith", "left behind his maleness"...etc. - you don't say! I could figure out that from tags/site.
So you can hate me, you can ban my planet, solar system (ehm...TOR) but you should agree with this: we need rules for descriptions and/or more tagging options. Am I wrong?

Re: Story Count
HumanAnimal, when someone says enough, and he says it in red that might be an indication to drop the subject, being new to the site an all.
BUT
Some people are harder headed then others. Then again I always thought we should have a tag for 'Girl castrates boyfriend for her girl lover on Halloween in the park by the Library' but they did not like that idea for a tag either.

Re: Story Count
I am/was one of the story editors. I grew tired and disenchanted with it with all of the bitching and griping about the stories, availability, search, tags, everything. I just stopped. I may start again to clear the last 4,000 or so, There will be no retroactive tags - you re-edit 7.5 thousand stoies. Same goes for synopses. Remember, we are presenting what has already been submitted and published - we don't re-write stories. You don't like, then don't read. (Are you financially supporting what you are getting? I am; so are several others, but more are needed.) A search function will come when the voluntary and massive code writing happens; keep in mind the Tal works a full time job and is on call for that job 24-7. Right now he is working hard to save the archive after being severely hacked. You're lucky you even have a place to bitch. Enough.
