But it is not like the movie 28 DAYS where the zombies die in that length of time, these zombies might take years to die and don't forget that those who merely die also become zombies. THat was the great secret from the Atlanta CDC visit in the first year -- everyone is infected with this virus--living or dead.

And I came back to add…

This episode occurs over two days. That's not a long time for zombies to live. And not a long time to tell the story in the episode…

I haven't thought deeply enough to figure out how long it has been since the outbreak.

I have the impression that from the first show until this episode is two years. I say that because Ranger Rick wife had to get pregnant by Shane when they were separated. So maybe one, two or three months for Rick to find his wife and son, 9 months for pregnancy, and the baby seemed to be 6 or so months old when the prison was attacked. That could be a few as eighteen months for all four seasons.

Perhaps the zombies we are seeing in the new episodes are recently turned zombies also

If you watch the episode you can see Fresh zombies and old zombies. There is a difference.

I don't want to write down a couple big spoilers but the differences are there.

For sure since everyone is infected anyone who dies becomes a zombie, so there is going to be a wide array of stages of decay.

You say that to any of the women I live near and they will rearranged your face with their fists.

I'd only shove my foot up your ass out of repeat for my knuckles.

How's that for belligerent?

🙃

But first, how about a beer?

Episode 10 "Inmates"

An hour that answers most of the hanging questions from the battle at the prison and introduces several new characters.

Lots of zombies get destroyed and lots of soul-searching is done.

Dramatically, a very good hour.

"CLAIMED"

Episode 11

Abraham , the big red-headed army dude with the scientist who says he knows how the zombie plague started, shows up in this episode. If any of you read the books then you'll be familiar with Abraham. The TV show does not follow the novels but it does lift material from them.

Ranger Rick gets surprised by two men while he's in bed. . . hilarity does not ensue!

This episode has no ennui, ennui, ennui.

In fact, if you garrote a man in the bathroom while he's taking a dump, he WILL return as a zombie. . .
