I Can't Believe They Cancelled . . .

While other threads consider some current series, how about those that got cancelled.

Off the top, there was no greater cancellation of a great series then HBO & Deadwood. What a crime.

Currently I am bummed about the cancellation of Bunheads.

I do not like music interludes in drama or comedy, nor dance, etc.

As a kid I disliked those moments in a kids program.

So to enjoy Bunheads for a Northern Exposures quirkiness with music and dance was special.

I can't believe ABC Family cancelled Bunheads.

...now if they would only cancel the "Survivor Series". It is ABSOLUTELY the worst...

Formula for success for the Networks,

first a news program, or several hours of them, one set, a couple news/entertainers low over head great yield.

second sports, this is a big money maker, no set, no paid actors, a couple announcers usually retired from the sport they are covering,

third reality TV, yes where you get unpaid people to do something a trained actor would never do and for a lot less money, no set to speak of, its a win.

Losers, any show with several sets, lots of actors who have big paydays, this is something they must do to keep their creditability, then after a few weeks you can always say the ratings are low and cancel it, or better move it around from day to day if all else fails move it to Friday night late that will be sure to kill it.

I think the days of shows like Hill Street Blues or Babylon 5, are gone forever. It takes to long to tell the story for a public who wants instant gratification.

The only thing I can recommend is let the show run its course, then if its around a few seasons watch them on your PC.

I feel your pain, several great shows have never made it past the first season and if so they killed it in the second. Firefly comes to mind.

I cannot believe "Naked and Afraid" is still on the air. Naked is true but those people partaking of this survival program I do not believe have ever been afraid of anything. Otherwise, why would they do this?
