death of passwords?

Post by Dave (imported) »

Apple's new phone has a fingerprint scanner. The word is that fingerprints, being unique, can replace passwords.

Thus reducing theft of both the phone and fraud due to identity theft.

However, I wonder about those who scorn supermarket cards and scorn the business world tracking their purchases if they will be the last ones to move to fingerprints over passwords.

AS it turns out -- Nipples can be used just like fingerprints and if nipples can be used then so can penises.

Think of drinking in a bar when the guy next to you whips out his ringing super-wonderful I-Phone with all the glittering gold bells and whistles and he also whips open his pants and touches it to the tip of his wiener... :dong:

Would you steal that phone and put it to your ear? :lightbulb

Now be serious when you answer me! ! ! ! !

And those finger prints you left on the glass you had a drink out of will be taken along with your phone that you thought was safe and this is right out of James Bond of about 40 years ago.

Apple again fails, guess they will need to sell everybody a new phone in 6 months to correct the problem again for another $539.99 because its the best there is. (at least in their own minds).

As for the penis print, he can always have in enlarged.

In all seriousness, the second they come up with a new system to protect your device be it PC or Phone the hackers will have already figured out how to get in.

The only way to protect your devices is if they do not talk to anybody except you. (no internet, phone, etc) the second you go outside your home, they got you.

What it's coming to - "That'll be $319.78, Ma'am, show us your tits so we scan them!"

God, is that comet gonna hit us yet? Please tell me it is.

Obsolescents - It is a constant gimick to sell their product.

Very true, you must constantly exercise caution.

Fingerprints?

River, Did you see the episode where what's-his-name put Horatio's prints at a crime scene? Yes, you could beat that system. It would be harder to do, though.

Perhaps the best one yet is the retina scanner. But then what about blind people who own no retinas?

Which begs the question, what about eunuchs with no penises? Or, women? That rules out half the population, no women. Or, ...well, you get the picture. Or not? Pornographic picture, that is.

In addition, so would a minor using your penis identification system be arrested for kiddie-porn? Would i-phone manufactures and suppliers be arrested for kiddie porn, too?

No, nipples would not be the best of ideas, either. What about the Indiana group of Indian maidens whom the Indy race is named after?

You know, remember?

Ugh... fingerprint sensor is not foolproof and I do not want some idiot to try and check if it takes only live fingers, or it would still work with freshly cut one.

On bash.org.ru, there are at least 10 posts joking about limiting the market of stolen iPhones (no more than 10 from one person ;-)).

Fingerprint sensor? No, thank you. So, if I either burn my hand or get some abrasions, it will stop working?

iPhone? for slavery to Apple? Still no, thank you.

PS. Re penis print idea - touchscreen for iPhone (glass + display) costs about 25$, rubber gloves, some ethanol, and new touchscreen. Problem solved.

just take an alcohol wipe to the end of your penis. 😲

It wouldn't be the first :dong: I've ever fiddled with that wasn't my own...

My old HP lap top has a fingerprint scanner. I've never set it up and its a pain if you accidentally brush over it.
