You and you alone have the ability to go find a doctor who will help you ---

be it a psychiatrist, psychologist, urologist or MD. No one can take you by the hand and lead you through the process. No one will speak for you.

Go out and do it.

toxoplasmosis is a treatable condition. It is more to do with the treatment of the symptoms than the disease itself. I know someone who had ocular toxoplasmosis and the treatment involved rather painful injections to the eyes. She has recovered, but now uses very strong lenses and there is substantial scarring of the retina.

The link between toxoplasmosis and schizophrenia is theoretical and not yet widely accepted. You would only know this association if you were already being treated for schizophrenia or you had read about it on the internet.

It is estimated that 40% of the UK population carry the virus, like an un-activated time bomb. We are a nation of cat lovers and they carry the virus among other creatures.

There is medical evidence that patients with toxoplasmosis undergo subtle changes in personality and that it can have psychological effects during and after.

The disease itself goes as spontaneously as it occurs. It is the other symptomatic presentation or effects that are treated. There is no specific treatment for it.

This is the most intelligent and logical statement I've read in this entire thread.

I might sound rough and hard sometimes but I don't mean to be.

I'm on your side. Start by making your feelings known as sincerely as you can and make the case for what you need in your life.

The message I want to get across is that you can do this. Regardless of what you think or the doubts you have. You can.

Don't let any doubts stand in your way.

Sorry for the late reply, this forum is pretty slow, so there's not much to post about, sorry. I'm not doing so well, the cold and rainy weather has been making me rather depressed.
