I am sure some of the inmates might have liked to take him out but since he was in protective custody this was done by his hand.

Two guards suspended pending investigation after his suicide. I thought someone must have turned a blind eye to what he was up to in his cell.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio prison officials say two prison guards have been suspended after the suicide of Ariel Castro.

Castro, the man convicted of kidnapping three Cleveland women, was found hanging in his cell on Sept. 3.

Officials said that Caleb Ackley, 26, and Ryan Murphy, 27, were placed on administrative leave with pay while the investigation takes place.

Ackley and Murphy were on duty when Castro killed himself at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio.

All I know is that since hearing about Ariel Castro, this is the one time I'm glad to hear he was hung.

Death was too easy a way out for him. I wanted him to hate every morning he woke up.

He destroyed himself long ago by his actions. The fact that he is dead is not as important as the mess that he created. There is NO WAY to make those poor women right. They must now live their lives from this point forward. The only good to come out of this is that they are still alive and so they have hopes of getting better every day. God speed to them.

The crime has never been about Castro in the first place. He was only the perpetrator.

One of the women came to face him and speak at his sentencing hearing. I'm glad she got some measure of closure for herself. The other two women had family read statements for them as they never wanted to see his face again.

Yes it will be quite a struggle for them and so for them I am glad if his death brings them a greater sense of safety and peace.
