Becoming impotent

Post by mccrayle (imported) »

Not sure where to post this.

Heard vague stories about some guy who got impotent because some nerves in (the outer part of) his penis got damaged.

My questions:

1) Is that possible?

2) Is it known what nerves could have been responsible for this?

3) Is it possible to deliberately damage those nerves, to become impotent, without losing anything else?

4) Would that also get rid of nightly erections?

Many thanks in advance!

1) no, it`s not possible to get impotent. if you cut this nerves the feeling/sensivity in parts of your dick is temporary gone. but you don`t need this nerves to get hard. sure it`s difficult to stimulate by rubbing your dick but you can also get hard by watching a porn or a hot guy/woman.

2) yes, in first line it is the "nervus dorsalis penis". if it is cut your body will built new nerve cords - so that the full numbness will diseppear

3) take a look and answer (1)

4) no, absolutly not.

Hope i could help you. And sorry for my bad english

Thanks for clearing that up!

(Where do people get such knowledge? Any hints for references to journal papers or medicine textbooks, perhaps?)

Okay, impotence is a combination of factors, and I do think you could make yourself impotent with the right combination.

The factors known to cause impotence are:

- low sex hormones

- high serotonin levels (anti-depressant SSRI medications often have side effect of impotence)

- damage to the blood supply to the penis

- damage of the nerves to the penis

I think the easiest method to try is the anti-depressants. I personally found Celexa to greatly decrease my sexual response, especially delaying ejaculation. The effect is more of a lack of interest in sex than true impotence, but it is a related phenomenon to impotence.

I also use penis banding to compress the dorsal nerve of my penis. By applying an elastrator band (it can't just be a regular elastic band) or very tight zip tie to the base of the penis, you will make your penis TOTALLY numb (I mean you can take a lighter to it and not even notice). There is a woman on the forum who blogs about her husband who has a permanently numb penis from this, and it has mostly caused impotence to him (he has to use vacuum pumping and cock rings to keep an erection). I found when I am numb, it lasts between two weeks and two months, and causes some impotence although I would still get morning erections. But no amount of stimulation of the penis itself would give an erection -- my wife would basically suck on my limp penis for a while to no effect at all.

For hormonal disruptions, you can use any of the chemical or physical castration methods described on the forums here. Note though that this will also reduce sexual desire in addition to reduced ability to get erect.

I don't know how someone would be able to cause the arterial damage to get impotence, and I wouldn't recommend trying.

Overall, I think you could try a combination of SSRI anti-depressants, penis banding, and chemical castration and I expect you would achieve what most people would call impotence -- i.e. penis doesn't respond to stimulation, or if it does it goes flaccid quickly.

Banding the penis will also cause damage to the blood vessels and loss of erections. Banding the penis is a hazardous activity that can lead to results you do not want, such as blood clots or gangrene. --FLO--

Banding your penis can cause DEATH.

Just thought I would add to your wise comments Flo.

i think there are many degrees of nerve damage that can be caused by penile banding. while most are temporary as mentioed by others, permanent nerve damage can occur.

i would be curious as to how long others have left the band in place.

did anyone experience prolonged penile numbness and if so how long did it last and what were the other consequences if any.

Male Cyclists, can become impotent from the pounding from the bike's saddle. From personal experience my penis would be numb from the presser in that area after a long bike ride (8 to 10 hours).
