EVERYONE and EVERYBODY is in reality bisexual (multisexual) on some level whether they want to admit it or not!!! As a eunuch the more pretty you are the more passes you will get from both sex opposites. Eunuchs lacking testosterone can be so very asexual which is often so perplexing and exasperating to either these sexes without them really understanding it. It needs to be pointed out. I speak from experience. Eunuchism is probably closer to asexual than anything else but there is no such thing as a "true" asexual either, since everyone is sexual on some level just that some are much more outgoing than others in this regard.

tugon and devi have added nicely to the discussion, and it has led me to discover I overlooked intersexed and hemaphrodite.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersex

This further adds to variety, the spice of life. But I think I will not attempt to update my chart or I might blow a brain fuse.

I had overlooked that someone, male or female, or intersexed, or hemaphrodite, might want to be, or already be a "third sex" or non-sexed person.

Many possibilities fall well outside of my knowledge, education, training, experience so while I read about them in text, it is a little difficult to get my brain around them.

The one thing I can get my brain around is how unfair it is of people to expect everyone to be "just like me", or "as I think they should be".

Odd that some naturalists and scientific people look for unique variations in plants, flowers, insects, animals, but when it comes to people, no no, can't have that.

After all, it is all part of nature just experimenting isn't it? Variations in dna and other things occur and if they work they proliferate.

If they don't work, they continue to happen, just in case external factors change in such a way that they might proliferate in the future.

Personally, I wish people all had both sexes.

Maybe rape would be eliminated, maybe births would be planned, at least it might make a good Sci Fi movie. But, maybe somebody has already done that.

The way science is going who knows, creating babies the original natural way may become a thing of the past. Sperm and eggs will be synthedized. Creation will all be done in test tubes and birth chambers.

At which point there might be a non-sexed asexual population, but I doubt it. The sun will probably blow up first.

Not sure about both sexes; I've seen snails at it! Lot of slime and not much fun.

Pardon the reply to this thread, but the subject seems to have been aired very recently and this seems to be maybe its start.

Yes there are many permutations and combinations of all the above, but consider also the progression of intact -> eunuch -> nullo.

We have at least two members who have completed this recently with very different aims. One, I believe, asexual, and the other still very much heterosexually active. (Best of all that's good to them!)

Sun blow up? Maybe. But until then, there are lots of regular eunuchs making their way as best they can, until society has an acceptable pigeon hole for us.

What should it be?

It was the gay pride parade. It seems that in some quarters we are considered Gender Queer. I accept that as a reasonable, but not completely accurate, description. I recall that it was attended by two of our EA board members as part of "The Eunuch Unit" --FLO--

... and at least in Europe Asexual / Neutrois are not welcome at these events (I am a bit active at AVEN). They see asexuals as a kind of unwelcome appendix.

Someday, the world will realize that gender is not a black and white dichotomy, but a very colorful continuum with a need for all its members.

I'm replying primarily to #18 earlier today without disagreement regarding gender (and gender preference) being a continuum, albeit of uneven distribution of mass along its middle stretches compared to its ends -- as with a barbell. Yet much of the world is militantly animated by exaggerating natural dichotomy among peoples, based on most anything identifiable as being "them" not "us." It's as though a need to shun and oppose and even criminalize those who are different is as much a feature of human nature as it is a bug.

This thread however began two + years ago about additional minority gender orientation "closets" opening in public demonstrations of pride and gaining favorable public recognition, and whether eunuchs might also be a closeted category yet to undertake breaking out.

On March 24 of last year a new thread posed the idea of March 24 being advanced for recognition as International Eunuch Day, based on that day being an ancient Roman holiday, the date on which acolytes of the goddess Cybele, the Mother of the Gods, castrated themselves to become priests and to serve the goddess.

At the same time I was disclosing to a dear lady living two states away, whom I hope to have a future with, that by the time that could happen I might well have prostate cancer recurrence confirmed and act to suppress it by being gelded -- voluntarily by orchi and proud of that choice over the drug route, but I'd be going T-free by any method only under duress of disease.

I'm not feeling much like I'll be entering a closet. Having cancer is no longer closeted, let alone treating it. Losing one's testicles by accident, warfare, or other involuntary cause seems to be another life-diminishing mishap that gets uncomfortable sympathy from other men but acceptance from women, perhaps as visible limb loss or spinal paralysis is. Voluntary testicle removal as self-improvement short of gender conversion is rare in comparison and little known of except here in EA.

The lady I covet long ago gave up her ovaries and uterus, by now would be way past natural menopause, and is now down to one natural breast and proud of carrying on regardless. Should there be a pride parade for women missing those reproductive parts? We're both over 70; relinquishing body parts is what happens along the way, same for libido fading away absent parts loss. I commented to her regarding Eunuch Day prospects, "Gasp! Another favors-demanding special interest cause? I doubt it—too easy to ridicule as over-the-top. Eunuchs doing militant advocacy would seem unlikely because of not having the balls for it." But as a calmly presented novelty status not needing either a closet or Civil Rights Act protection, no obvious problem.

Boy you can say that again! Or if we find a cutter they are either retired (no longer cutting) or so far away to make it cost prohibitive to go to them or have them come to us. I know the legal ramifications that can come to a cutter but I wish there was some kind of yellow-pages for cutters to make finding them easier.
