Debunking an old myth.

Post by impotentus (imported) »

I' ve had this weird taboo since school. Almost everyone seems to believe it, but I `ve read a lot of different things about it. Does excesive masturbation cause impotence?

Not really... Excessive masturbation leads to excessive masturbation. IMHO

What excessive masturbation does is drain the testicles and the whatever cells are around them that hold and retain sperm like a tiny reservoir. The body needs time to replenish (think "create" as in cell division) the sperm. It's not that you'll shoot blanks, it's that you just run out of ejaculate and have fewer sperm in the ejaculate.

Think of your body as having a finite supply of sperm and ejaculate like a water well in the country. Pumping the well dry means you have to wait for the groundwater to refill the well.

One is also "draining" the prostate, where 99+% of semen originates. One can "run out' of semen - for awhile - but still orgasm (dry). Perfectly OK and safe. Wank away.

It's incredible what peoples could tell to stop teenagers from masturbating, around here they were telling us that we'd go blind if we jerk off too much.

I was taught as a Catholic that masturbation was a mortal sin, i.e. I would be condemned to hell for doing it. I continued to feel guilty of this sin, until I was seduced as a teenager by a young female nurse six years my senior and that was then of my guilt complex when it comes to having and enjoying sex.
