Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
I've given up on the series.
So spoilers would be appreciated. Maybe I'll get back to it.
Did the chick get out of the bomb shelter. Did big man realize his son is psycho yet?
Please tell the story.
Thanks

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
A climactic scene looks out upon a blasted, burnt, and destroyed landscape with fires still smoking and nothing left alive...
(I'm afraid to say more because I've been yelled at for spoilers that I never intended to be spoilers, so this is as good as it gets right now. I indulged in spoilers with SPARTACUS because the story of Spartacus is in in any book of Roman history. Well, history didn't record those murders committed by Illithia and Lucretia nor the size of their tits but that was a different matter. History did record the vast panoply of sex, violence and more sex that was Rome and its Gladiators.)
However, Yahoo has some great spoilers:
http://tv.yahoo.com/blogs/tv-news/no-on ... 41643.html
added:
It happened during the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA a number of years back... I made some rather innocent comments about one of their eye-popping plot points on a blog (BG had several "WOW!" scenes) and this one gal just kept berating me for over a week about it. I've been careful ever since to keep the spoilers to hints that appear on the internet...

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
Siberia was not on last night due to the royal baby special
so I tried to watch "Under the Dome".
GAWD it is boring.
So they blow off a big bomb, MOAB and those inside survive the devastation.
The girl who has two mothers meets the sperm donor on Dome Visitors Day.
Big Man and his psycho kid continue their dance.
And of course, the whole thing is the fault of the Federal Government.
What did I miss?
I missed Siberia.

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
Episode 6, I think. The episode where the rain comes falling down inside the dome.
I would say -- Law and order has left the town of Chester's Mills -- and left for good.
CBS has ordered Season #2 and Stephen King has agreed to write the first episode of Season 2.

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
Watched it having DVR'ed it while watching Siberia.
Other then the farmer who has water he will trade for propane, I found little of interest because of the predictability.
I believe the actor playing that farmer was in Mel's "Patriot". The Red Headed guy who finding his wife and son murdered by the Redcoats, shoots himself in the head.
Dave, anyone, do you like Dome as it is written ?
The Simpson's version was so much more creative.

Not A Domeie

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
I don't know where "Ollie Dinsmore" who has the artesian well on his property is going as a character. He grates on my nerves but that isn't a bad thing. I can say that "Big Jim" is not a hero. He's quite corrupt. And I can say that "eternal enmity" really does happen when you take land (or attempt to take land) by less than legal means. I know of a few spectacular neighbor to neighbor feuds over property lines.
Rule Number One in writing: Not every character reacts in sensible ways to disaster or jeopardy.
I can't speak about the characters in THE PATRIOT.
Do I like how "UNDER THE DOME" is written?
I can't say. I'm not watching it as a writer. I'm watching it to be entertained.

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
If things continue as they are
It is Siberia this Monday.
Dome is CBS is at war with Time Warner.
Why didn't they chose to Black Out Washington, D.C. ?
Why California for their wars away from "home" :-\

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
Perhaps Time Warner in their fight with CBS didn't blank out Washington DC because COMCAST, RCN, VERIZON, and WASHINGTON CABLE are the only four cable providers for Washington DC.
