Daniel Metzgar has a bone to pick with his doctor.

The 44-year-old New Jersey trucker had an erection that lasted eight months, and said in court that his hard times were the result of a botched penile implant he received in December 2009, according to the Delaware News-Journal.

Metzgar won't stand up for this kind of abuse -- because he can't right now. After the surgery, he claimed in a new lawsuit that his scrotum grew to the size of a volleyball and his engorged pride got in the way of family events and motorcycle riding.

"I could hardly dance, with an erection poking my partner," Metzgar told jurors on Monday. "It’s not something you want to bring out at parties and show to friends."

The surgery equipped Metzgar with a three-piece inflatable implant, including cylinders that would fill with fluid should Metzgar use the pump embedded in his scrotum. He wanted the inflatable penis to help his relationship with his wife, Donna, Medical Daily reports.

He claims he was between a rock and a hard place unwillingly. But the Wilmington, Del. urologist who performed the surgery says Metzgar waited four months to complain about an infection, and then wouldn't bend for treatment until April 2010.

The prosthesis wouldn't be removed until August 2010, after tubing from the implant punctured his scrotum, Fox News reports.

Relief couldn't come soon enough, and Metzgar later got a replacement implant from another doctor. But he says Desperito won't get off easily, because he lost a great deal of sensation from the botched surgery. He became a hardened man, the lawsuit claims.

He and his wife are seeking unspecified damages. His attorney, Michael Hayden, stood firm with him, saying, "Dan is stuck in this position."

The tongue in cheek is cute, but certainly a surprise in the Huffington Post. Really? The lawsuit says he became a hardened man?

Eight months he "put up" with this? At first he is enjoying his new found boy toy, over uses it, damages it, and now it's a sob story.

He should sue himself for being irresponsible to himself. Good thing I am not the judge. I would bounce him out of court on his volleyballs.

I knew a fellow who had first a pump installed and then when it broke the stiff rods. In both cases he said his penis wasn't "rock hard" like a real erection. IT was just hard enough to get inside a vagina and that was it.

a) These things always break down, and

b) when they do, your penis is a limp noodle forever after, and

c) the penis isn't pointed straight out when these things are in "limp" state. It's pushed down against the user's leg.

Huffington Post had a 12 year old giggle out the story for funnsies...

I can easily see waiting several months after a major operation, because it usually takes a while for things to style down. In fact I usually get all mad at the doctor thinking they've botched something and they always say to wait more time. This happened to me when a doctor removed a bunch of body jewelry implants I had placed in my penis, afterwards I had no sensation in my penis. The doctor had not warned me of such a side effect and the numbness lasted months. I was actually preparing to sue when about the months later sensation started to return. For my laser eye surgery, they said they wouldn't even consider further refinement until at least the months had passed. And so on. I could see waiting to see if infection subsided, especially if the doctor had said there would be swelling.
