Hello all!

I have been a long time lurker on this website, registered fairly recently and thought it was time to introduce myself.

I have been curious of asexual people and the idea of not even desiring sex for some time and I have always wondered(and more recently desired) to be rid of my sex drive.

I have never had the courage to pursue any relationships, so excessive masturbation played its role and I feel bored and increasingly disturbed my sexual thoughts.

Would like to state for the record that I am not personally into the whole castration fantasy aspect, it is NOT a turn on for me, my interest right now would be at a curiosity level and I am contemplating a "trial run" as some of you nice folks have dubbed it to be.

It's been my experience that a lot of people just don't understand asexuality. It's always nice to see someone else talk about it without equating it to something "bad" in their view.

For those that seek information regarding both asexuality methods to achieve that, this is certainly the right place. Castration is a subject not freely talked about by most people and there is a cloud of misunderstanding surrounding those who would seek it, or have done it. Many are simply not equipped with enough knowledge to react in any way but shock.

You will find good people here who will attempt to answer your questions and be open minded about your personal situation. Even attempting a chemical castration trial can be a life changing experience, so it is not to be taken lightly. Be active, participate in threads and by all means ask questions, and in time you may find what is the best path for you, even if that does NOT include castration.

I will do my best to get involved, both for my own sake and others.

Some of the journeys posted on here are fascinating and really opened my eyes to a whole spectrum of difficulties people faced and all the different reasons as to why castration or otherwise was chosen.

The great thing is you bring an open mind with questions that you understand need to be defined. Certainly I appreciate that you make it plain that, just now, being a castrate isn't your goal. However, what impresses me is that your curiosity will lead you to have a greater understanding of the issue of sexuality. It's always said that one should never discuss a person's health or religion. It's almost implicit that sex is beyond even consideration for discussion and yet the best way to learn is to have an open, positive dialogue with those who have sexual characteristics that you do not understand. I know why I had myself castrated but you make me think...could I explain it to you in a way that puts it on a plain that while you might not completely understand would give you one view on the topic. All of us have our reasons for what we've done or haven't done. Thanks for asking us, we'll reward your honesty in questioning with our candor in answering.

One thing that was brought to my attention today was that of learning to drive( I still haven't bothered my arse to actually do so ). With regards to that, I was wondering does anyone have any issues with driving since castration. Also, i was wondering if I would need to report to my instructor I was on medication ( If I go down that path).

One last question (heard that one before ), would I need to state in any documentation with regards to my license etc that I was on any sort of medication (eg. androcur etc).

I realise this is a lot and many of you live in different countries with different laws so any of your stories in relation to this would be awesome. I am thinking now I should have addressed this in a different thread, blaming that on my newbie status

In Russia, if you pass medical examination, you are ok with getting a drivers licence.

The exact wording is specific, but basically, if hormonal problems are not severe and would not cause fainting/coma, you are okay.

IMO, on any medical examinations, be it for work, or for getting drivers licence - the less you say, unless directly asked, the safer you are.
