genemichaels,
Castration (bilateral orchiectomy) is not something you should get or have done without a lot, I mean a lot, of research and soul searching. Once you're castrated there's no going back. You can add back testosterone, but it's not the same as having testicles. So please really give this a thorough review. Read as much as you can here, don't rush into it. Now, if you've already done a lot of research and soul searching and you believe you're really ready, then let's me share some of what I know. Once castrated here are some of the effects:
1. You'll slowly begin to lose all sexual desire (unless you use some testosterone gel or cream, as in Hormone Therapy HRT). Everyone is different so your loss of sexual desire could come on fast or at a snail's pace. You might be able to get erections for months or just a few weeks.
2. You might be able to work up an erection, you'll try to get an orgasm but after 10 minutes you'll just give up because you don't really care.
3. You will gain some weight if you're not really careful and if you don't change your eating habits, which is hard to do.
4. Your body shape will change some, your hips might widen and your breasts will enlarge some or a lot. Depends on your family. Some say that if your mother or sisters have big breasts that as a eunuch your breasts might get big. This is more true with transsexuals who add estrogen.
5. Your penis will shrink. Mine shrank a lot, some not so much. Most eunuchs want this or are not bothered by this.
6. Your emotions will change. You will probably cry more easily.
7. You will experience a eunuch calm. Some eunuchs experience this more than others. I also believe that you'll have more clarity in thinking simply because your mind is not clouded by sexual thoughts.
8. You will probably have hot flashes and problems sleeping, at least initially.
9. You might, after several years, develop symptoms of gender dysphoria or experience transgender desires. (NOTE: This is from my experience and from the experiences of a few other eunuchs. It does not happen to every eunuch). http://www.webmd.com/sex/gender-identity-disorder
10. You might develop an affection for cats.
Any other eunuch want to chime in, please do!

You most likely will have to permanently change your diet to avoid getting fat, exercise regularly to maintain muscle mass, you probably will develop some degree of irreversible gynostemtia, even if you use supplemental testosterone, and you should have your physician keep a regular watch over your body's new metabolism in order to remain healthy. These are my experiences so far as a new eunuch.

Congratulations to all the new eunuchs.
As a 15+ year no T eunuch the rollercoaster of emotional and physical changes smooths out over the years. The hot flashes, heightened emotions, physical changes will settle down. My only regret is that it did not happen earlier in life.

There seems to be a cogent number of new castrates over the past year or so, who significantly increased the numbers our eunuch community at EA.

For me it was Dr A in Detroit I think he has done several others. I guess it comes down to having a qualified Dr at an affordable rate willing to perform the surgery again.

That was the reason I was able to accomplish a goal I'd thought about for a long time, but I was unwilling to have the procedure done by anyone other than a qualified physician.
