Re: Game of Thrones
Sorry about that. I wondered how they could post that portion of the story.
They were fast to take it down.

Thanks for the link Milkman. I assumed that when it was gone, it was gone.... Guess not.
Of course, for Theon -- that still applies...

Re: Game of Thrones
I think the the length of the first clip played into its removal. It was over 2 minutes and from what I could tell the complete scene with Theon (the character's name) the two wenches, the tough guy and then the laughing one with the knife. Plus flunkies.
From what I read online (since I don't read the books and only watch for the dragons on the TV) the books do all of the torture out of sight. The TV shows it. The book discussion groups have been speculating about what the knife did because he says "remodeling" and not castration. There is mucho speculation that he still has his testicles and they knife took his penis. That does work into the story because whoever is doing this let him cavort with the two naked women before the dirty deed. That also works with the duality of the title -- fire and ice.
Alfie Allen (who plays Theon) said that they would get about 2 hours of him on the cross a day and that was it. Worst of it was that he had a bad knee and the position on the X-cross aggravated the knee.
Torture and dragons, what a twisted pair of interests.

Re: Game of Thrones
The torturer -- Ramsay -- specifically talks about Theon's cock being his most important body part, so I think the intention to deprive him of that is pretty clear. Whether he flayed it first is up to one's imagination. I've always thought that penectomy was a more effective punishment if punishment is your goal because by retaining the testicles presumably the "urges" are still present, but one is unable to act-upon or relieve them. I've always imagined that to be worse than actual castration. (just my $0.02 worth)

Re: Game of Thrones
Dragon Glass, that black obsidian blade can slay a white walker.
Shatter them to dust of ice. Just as their touch can shatter a steel sword.
Is it my imagination of have all my favorite series gone to a slow, plodding pace.
Thrones and Mad Men. So slow.
I want more story in my one hour episode.
And now they declare only two more episodes left in a season with so little story development?

Re: Game of Thrones
My son told me about the episode, talk about killing off the cast. LOL, like I say way back when, this show is just to violent for me.

Re: Game of Thrones
This is one of the non-political things I've been hearing on the news all day.
Newscasters taking the vapors...
Each show host had their own tiny tidbit of GAME OF THRONES has a "Red Wedding" (and that's not because they are wearing red clothing.)
They all had the same internet clips of people freaking out over the "red wedding" ...
I won't pick on them too badly because I rant and rave about THE WALKING DEAD which has had some of the goriest scenes ever put on TV.
I might go back to this episode ON DEMAND and watch it just to see how much blood.
