I'm looking all over online, I don't think this restaurant exists anymore.

Re: Dessert
My family and friends think I'm crazy when I buy desserts for everyone else to eat (I'm allergic to most dessert components except plain white or yellow cake and very little icing) because I get them tiny scoops of two gellatos and lemon sorbette. Guess what is gone at the end of the dessert session with cake, biscotti, coffee, nut horns, cookies, and chocolates? The Lemon Sorbette is gone and half of the rest of the Gellato and ice-creams are left behind.
I might be allergic to desserts but I'm not stupid about them. Eat a big meal of ham and Lamb and scalloped potatoes and three vegetables and all that and guess what satisfies for dessert... something light and just as satisfying in the sugar department...

Re: Dessert
Yes, sense I will not be moving to Hawaii this year, I will once again cook pancakes for breakfast on Saturday morning for all.
NOTE: This I am hoping is my last MOM as the next one I will be living in Hawaii.

Re: Dessert
Off topic, but roast suckling pig - had it only once, an unforgettable joy. I've read some trendy Manhattan restaurants sell it now. Why isn't this treat seen more widely?
I think I've read that the President plans to retire in Hawaii. River, will you be his neighbor?
Back to desserts -
I've always enjoyed the Japanese dessert known as yokan. Yokan is a tradional Japanese sweet, which is basically made of azuki beans, kanten (agar agar), and brown sugar. The beans are mashed into a paste, then mixed with the kanten and sugar to make a dense sweet block, often with some pistachio nuts mixed in. It has the kind of severe simplicity typical of Japan.
