I just discovered that plain ordinary pound cake when left out of the refrigerator for over a week will turn green and moldy like bread does. HOWEVER, the same bakery's GOBS (which are two tiny pieces of dense yellow cake with a gigantic gob of sugar icing in between them, can stay out for two weeks and not get green or mold in any way. I mean that if I eat gobs there is so much sugar that I may as well simply shove a knife in my gut and bleed to death that way. (your next question might involve TMI so don't ask it)... Pound Cake never does that but it isn't as sugar-high, head buzzing, bombastic as a single Gob.

What is it about nearly all-sugar treats like that? Is there a special Mold that likes only half-bad/half-goos stuff and leaves unhealthy crap alone?

I really want to know...

Down to 210# Still obese by the insurance charts. (*shrugs*) What do they know? The guys who tried to sell me life insurance when I was 22 were both dead at about 50. I told Tal that insurance was not much better than extortion. I meant it, too! Just tell somebody that they need to pay you money because something might happen to them and see what happens to you.

Murg... I'm still at 233. I've only lost five f***ing pounds in the last month-and-a-half. :(

My willpower has been very thin of late... I've been doing a lot of emotional eating due to HRT mood swings, and for some reason my body has just been seriously craving carbs for the last few weeks.

Take heart.

233# is NOT that bad.

See your doctor and if he or she approves start exercising. Start with a little cardiopulmonary program. Walk, walk, walk. Shar with your physician what sort of diet you should have. Seek out a professional dietician consultation through your local hospital/medical center.

Get a notebook and write down everything that you eat for two weeks.

Then, go back and on a day to day basis, count your calorie intake. See what you are eating and why. Then slowly, very slowly attempt to modify your calorie intake while simultaneously maintaining a balanced diet.

Experiment. Find new foods that you have never eaten before and carefully modify your diet with them if you like them.

Eat the diet things, stay away from famous fast food heart attack hamburgers. Like that one that slick chick in the Hardee's commercial eats. Take my word for it, she has NEVER finished a whole one of those in her life.

Most of all, take heart. Be good to yourself. You are doing fine and don't forget it. :)

If yer going to be an emotional eater go Vegan.

youll shed pounds quick. I'm transitioning from a meat to vegan diet now.

PH blood levels lowering, losing weight even further, amazing blood pressure results(that of a 17 yr old)

And if that doesn't convince you this will

http://www.odditycentral.com/news/70-ye ... water.html

NB= After seeing this 2 weeks ago I'm tranning myself now to go vegan.(get a juicer and berry supplement mix)

Fuck meat. Fuck the shit they put in it.

The countless preservatives, antibiotics, tranquilizers, corn and grain fed GMO shit

Bet you didnt know it's the dead and alive bacteria from the meat that contributes to heart attacks and cardiovascular issues eh?

When you ingest it it raises uric acid levels and this is the ultimate killer.

It has always been the degree of body inflammation that kills cells.

The added saturated fat and blubber are a bonus

It just sucks that meat is sooo darn tasty!!!! LOL

Eat organic plant based fats(hydrophilic such as palm or coconut oil, hydrophobic such as virgin olive oil), plant based carbs(im now even beggining to think that white rice isn't as severe anymore)

and plant protein.(beans, beans, beans)

http://nutritionfacts.org/video/uprooti ... -of-death/

NB = In past I endorsed meat, but not anymore. And you may be thinking hey.....what if I buy grass fed beef(aka organic livestock cuts)?....Well the issue here is where in hell are you going to find a reputable vendor who doesn't feed his livestock crap?(same applies to chickens aswell)

It's much easier to find organic based veggies from hippies than it is to find a farmer practicing livestock like the good old mom and pop days.

Easier to fight Monsanto than meat Corps such as maple leaf

I have been on a vegan diet (except for some fish) for five months and, with a daily routine of exercise, I lost over 45 pounds so far. I am continuing to lose weight steadily and hope to lose another 40 so that I am at the optimum weight recommended for someone my age and height. My meals during the day consist of fresh vegetable and fruit juice, with a protein supplement that I make in a juice blender, and for dinner I have salad with a little seafood. I do not eat anything processed and try to limit my carbs to as little as possible, maybe some croutons with the salad. I feel great.

Down from 171 to 157 this morning. Taking Zija XM am. Only exercise right now is mowing the grass. Not a great meat eater but do like vegetables. have to watch seeds now since my bout with diverticulitis. No strawberries or walnuts...for now boo-hoo. Love them both and the walnuts really help curb appetite in the evenings when I want to keep munching. Maybe by July or Aug. I can start eating them again...slooowly.

Fish can be an exception to eat, it's healthy provided it lacks mercury. good news it's easy to find fresh water fish sources of anchovies, sardines , Tilapia and salmon. These fish contain the least amt traces of mercury

(again do not buy them canned)

As for supplements I've been trying these to lower my ph blood acidity

I definitely recommend the low carb diet, fairly strictly. I lost over 70 pounds fairly "easily" on it. The science makes a lot of sense to me, which is basically this -- until agricultural revolution carbs were extremely rare and mostly available in late summer and early fall, so when our bodies see we've eaten some they decide they need to store the energy for the winter. The body does this by spiking insulin levels. Without insulin being high, our bodies really won't store fat, but when insulin is high every calorie is stored as fat. Then in modern times we further figured out how to refine carbs and make them extremely plentiful -- fruit juice, potatoes, rice, pasta are often consumed in huge quantities by US families. This is extremely killer to our bodies, who are now basically being stimulated to spike our insulin.

So, the main thing is to NEVER eat something that will spike your insulin. Note that "whole wheat" and unprocessed carbs are not that much better than processed carbs in terms of insulin spike. Whole wheat may be better for fiber and vitamins, but from low carb perspective it is still pretty bad.

The other thing about carbs and insulin spikes is that they don't really satisfy hunger for long. Protein and fat are much better at providing satiety through the day.

The weird thing is that once you get into low carb, you realize how ridiculous it is when people are loading up their plates with mashed potatoes, french fries, etc. Basically those carbs are just like eating a heap of sugar -- it is really that bad for you.

With just that diet change, I'm convinced that anyone will lose considerable (>50) pounds.
