My suspicion is that the so called eunuch calm has more to do with the achievement of a long desired outcome than an actual effect of the outcome.
I'm going to agree with you simply because two decades ago I learned to put my emotions away and conduct myself without reaction to the person in front of me. It was a "Dao" philosophy that I used -- you can't live your life in hate -- It served me well. When I am home alone I still scream and yell at the TV… However, when someone else is around I might get passionate but not the truly profane and out-of-control nutzoid as when I'm alone. Even then, I so offend myself sometimes that I stop and put all that anger away. Usually change the TV channels, too. So much of politics is anger and hate, today. No one (living or dead) has ever heard my eruptions or meltdowns.
When people say that they achieve a calm state (free of sex drive or aggression) then I understand the effect of Testosterone on goosing them into aggression or anger. "T" does that to me but I've learned hot to turn it off and keep it under control.
However, if that anger or aggression is focused into sexual terms or if that "T" goes to goose the mental asshole in all of us and the behavior turns to masturbation and release cycle (like an addiction) then removal of that stimulus will feel more dramatic and be noticeable.
That sort of says there's a difference between M-to-F changes and purely eunuch changes. I'm not a psychologist or a psychiatrist to explain that any better. As I think about it, if you remove "T" because you don't want sex then calm happens and certain emotional states vanish. If you remove "T" because you want to be a woman then estrogen creates different emotions. That's probably inarticulately or stupidly said. Sorry in advance.
