ten worst cars in the USA
According to the LA TIMES
http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/l ... otogallery
This links to a slide show but just to start off, the
Pinto is there...
The Yugo is there
and shudder, shudder, close your eyes at the dismal ugliness of the AZTEK
Go look at their list and add your own.
(I wish to add, the Polish FIAT because a Polish friend told me they ran the factory for three years, sold the factory and never made a spare part. Hence even the Poles derogatorily named it "Polish Fiat" as they scoured junk yards for parts)

Re: ten worst cars in the USA
I did own one car on the list, a Chevy Vega. It was a decent car at the time but after a couple years, I got tired of the little 4 cyl motor and dropped in a 350 V-8 with a automatic trans. Made it much more fun to drive but lost some mileage. Needed an new rear end assembly and a couple sets of rear tires as well, but hey, economy cars can be fun!

Re: ten worst cars in the USA
I figure that if you're going to waste your money on a big and ugly car then it has to be "liveable". So if somebody should give you such a car then the question becomes whether you can park it somewhere and actually live in it. After it is parked, maybe in a field or or under a roof for bales of hay or old garage, then not many people would give it much attention since it'd seem to be just some stupid vehicle abandoned for being an ugly gas guzzling, expensive to repair clunker.
AND it'd be comfortable too!

Re: ten worst cars in the USA
I bought a Dodge DYNASTY one time and the car was too narrow and the doors wouldn't open wide. It hurt my shoulders. I traded it in about a year after I bought it at a bad loss. It wasn't worth the money spent on it.
When I first saw the AZTEK on the road, it really was the UGLIEST car on the road. Whoever thought that was pretty or attractive has no taste (not even in their tastebuds)...
The Nissan CUBE looks like shit compared to everything on a highway.

Re: ten worst cars in the USA
I'm not sure what would be worse: Waking up to a really ugly woman with bad breath or in an Aztak? My wife and I did sleep in the back of our Vega we took to Florida during the gas shortage in 1972. Gas stations weren't open late at night and we had to wait for gas in the AM. If you really want to travel and sleep, you gotta have a van. Had a 73 Dodge extended van with an extra 40 gallon fuel tank. It was awesome, no worry with 60 gallons about stations being closed at night. Have had an assortment of vans since then. My brother-in-law bought the Buick twin of the Aztek- I laughed at him!

One interesting note is the Ford Pinto for all it's negative press proved to be a good deal for the Post Office. The Post office bought hundreds of Pintos and reported that they had less maintenance issues with those cars than any vehicle they had ever used.

They left out the Corvair.
The car that ended rear mounted engines

I am amazed that the AMC Pacer is not #1 on the list or even on the list. By far the worst car I ever owned
