Depo provera or androcur?

Post by Robby1985 (imported) »

I have been married for three years, and my wife no longer wants to have sex. This is causing huge problems, I have turned to pornography and have even considered going to a prostitute. I really love my wife and would do anything to stay with her, but I am afraid at this rate something is going to have to change.

Anyways I started to look into how to reduce my sex drive and come upon the eunuch archive. There is lots of good i formation here but I am confised about which way is the best. I like the idea of getting a shot once a month rather than pills every day. Can anyone recommend the best way to go? I would like to lose my sex drive completely, and no longer think about sex or cheating on my wife.

I have discussed this with my wife and she is supportive. We are both wondering how long chemical castration takes, and if eventually the effects become permanent. Thanks.

What you have described is a great example for when many men should look at removing or at least reducing their sex drive. And it's nice that the options are there to take up.

With my experiences Androcur has been a pretty good drug. It definitely curbs my behaviour and cheating instincts, and I have never experienced too much depression with it, though others have, so you need to be careful. It can also have long term effects, but with me I am back to going sexually strong, so again 'your mileage may vary' (often used phrase around here), but also I have never been on it for any longer than a few months at a time. A 12 month stint could leave you limp for the rest of your days, and it sounds like that is what you want, but a great thing is that you could just try it for a month and see how it feels.

Here is a link to purchase Siterone (Androcur) online:

I wouldn't buy it just yet though. Hear the advice of others on the EA. Many know far more about this stuff then I do.

You are far to young and too early in a marriage to be considering such an issue from the perspective of castration. I would very strongly suggest some marital counseling, and for her a physical exam to see if there is something wrong that would disrupt sexual desire/needs.

Absolultley right! Plus it would impact your fertility. If you don't stay married to this woman, you don't want to limit yourself in future relationships.

I've used DP myself and found it to be very effective, although it's slow to act initially (about 2-3 weeks). The recommended way is to use 2 doses to begin with, or to use the stronger preparation available from Goldpharma, called Farlutal. I've used both and they are both very effective. They don't make you impotent, but they suppress spontaneous sexual desire and fantasy. I also didn't find my energy levels significantly impacted. I don't know if my fertility has been affected because I've not tried, but I've used DP and Farlutal on various occasions and my function came back fully after it had worn off each time.

However, I agree with the others: for a young man who has been married a fairly short time, I would advise going to counselling because there may be a reason your

It often happens after childbirth, or it could be that she has an illness that she does not know about.

Thanks for your responses. I have thought about this alot, and definitely want to go thr chemical castration route. i know I am young but I am very happy with my wife and don't want to leave her. If I could get through the night without always having an erection, and sometimes during the day, it would be a huge relief.

I found a source for farlutal, it is about $65 a month. Will discuss this with my wife tonight, this seems like the way to go. I thnk I will let her give me the shots so that this is what she wants; we both know this may mean giving up my "masculinity" but if a limp dick is the biggest side effect, am willing to live with it. As for other side effects, we will see, hopefully I can live with them.

We had our discussion tonight. My wife is being very supportive and we both agree that eliminating my sex drive will solve 99% of our problem. I plan on ordering about a six month supply of farlutal tommorow. Am really looking forward to reducing or eliminatingnmy sex drive. Has anyone become completely impotent on depo provera or does that take a long time, if ever, to achieve?

Has your wife been checked out for any health issues? What if in a couple of years she gets her libido back? What you are choosing, and it is your right, is a drastic solution. If YOU want to be a eunuch, that is fine, doing it for sexual incompatibility isn't likely to be a satisfying solution.

Best of Luck!

Farlutal definitely didn't cost that much per month when I took it - one dose is good for more than a month and costs just over £5 (UK) plus "prescription" and shipping, bringing it to about £15 if I remember rightly. You need the injectable one, not the tablets - it's an intra-muscular injection.

My wife has been seeing a therapist about our marraige and some other issues. She brought up the idea of chemical castration with her yesterday, and to my surprise she is being very supportive. She told my wife she has several clients on chemical castration, mostly for sex addiction. She told my wife if I complain of sex addiction there is even a chance our insurance will pay for the depo provera. Sounds like it will take about three months for the full effect and for me to stop getting erections. Well anyways I have an appointment to see her monday as I am eager to get this started. I also like the idea of having someone supervise this. She reccomends taking the shots for one year and seeing how it goes.
