In all the bitching posted on another thread, it wasn't stressed enough that without Talula and Cainanite there would be no story archive.

Along with Paolo, I used to moderate story submissions. As much as I bitched about doing it at times, it wasn't half the work that Cainanite has to put in to publish someone's story. If you like reading stories or like submitting stories, you shouldn't hesitate to thank him. Without his commitment to the story archive, I doubt it would have been resurrected.

When I was asked, I said, "Let it die."

Without Talula writing the code, there would be no story archive. Without Talula, there would be no Eunuch Archive site.

Someone might thank him, too.

Yes Talula does deserve a great deal of thanks. He must spend an awful lot of time on the archive.

I wonder if it would be possible to get him a volunteer staff to help with some of the work. There must be people on the EA with the necessary skills who could contribute a few hours a week to helping out. Unfortunately, I do not have those skills.

I'd offer to help in a snap and I'm sure I'm far from alone but I think it's an issue of trust and security since they've had so many problems with people trying to take the board down in the past?

I've been there both writing stuff for a friend's board years ago and unpaid "urgent" overtime for work which has turned out to be not-so-urgent or they've asked for the wrong thing and I think Talula might need appreciation not help People are always going to be resistant to change and are going to have constructive comments but when you've spent several sleepless nights on something you think people will like you just feel like crying. Nobody would think of sending a meal a friend had cooked back over and over again until everyone at the table was perfectly happy with it and there are thousands of people at this one. I'm really glad he's got people sticking up for him so vehemently because he probably just feels like taking an axe to the server right now!

I've not seen either system but they had to change it for a reason and unless someone spots a bug or it doesn't work at all I'd think the time for suggestions would be probably when they ask for them And Cainanite is working hard at getting as many old stories as possible back.

Just know how frustrating and upsetting it is!
