Why there will be weeks of riots in the streets and civil disorder.

A semi-white man who thought he was threatened was found not guilty of killing a scary black boy walking around doing nothing but eating skittles.

Why the next thing them thar black boys will be doing is marrying your daughters.

And that's all I have to say.

It seems SHARKNADO has been an unexpected success and soon to become cultural icon.

A repeat has been unexpectedly scheduled for Thursday, July 18, on SciFi channel.

SHARKNADO is a must see, so set your DVR's.

SciFi is beginning the process of a "SHARKNADO 2"

<edit>

And yes, a “Sharknado” sequel is already being discussed at the Syfy headquarters, though official plans have yet to coalesce. For now, the cabler is planning a rerun of the pic next Thursday at 7 p.m. to serve as a lead-in to Frankie Muniz-starrer “Blast Vegas.”

We’ve had other movies where the titles would catch some buzz, like ‘Sharktopus’ or ‘Jersey Shore Shark Attack,’” explained Thomas Vitale, Syfy’s exec veep of programming and original movies. “But the level that ‘Sharknado’ reached, that was a surprise. It’s one of those happy accidents.” <edit>

🇺🇸 What a country !

Where something as bad as Honey Boo Boo has a marathon on "The Learning Channel"

And an anticipated bad film can become a sensation. :-\

Be careful when you knock the absurd, it may be the next fad. :)

And that is all "I" have to say.

This is the genesis quote that accurately, succinctly and correctly defines this situation and many others. It may also be the moment when "black justice" or "justice for blacks" ceases to be giving them a desired verdict more than a correct one. What worries me is that...this was an all white, all female jury and, shades of OJ, how soon will the cry of "jury nullification" be heard?

He's talking about OJ Simpson, right?

--LT

OJ brings to mind Alan Dershowitz who has interesting comments on all this. In short, he feels that the prosecution is guilty of prosecutorial misconduct and should be hauled into court and so charged. He points out that suggestions that Zimmerman, "stalked him and murdered him" and that Zimmerman was involved in a form of "child abuse" is ludicrous.

We need to look back at attorney Ben Crump, for the Martin family, who, early on said, "if we can't get it done one way, we'll bring out the old playbook and get him that way". The "old playbook" is to bring in every "famous" civil rights advocate and groups who will demand, demonstrate, locally politicize until they foment a form of riot.

Then there's the President saying, "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon Martin". It must also be remembered that Senator Obama was part of the cast of black civil rights advocates who routinely showed up, however true or false the issue, to "protest". (During his first election nothing was more amusing/disgusting than watching Obama and Oprah Winfrey work the South like revival preacher and his adoring wife. Somehow, they both "forgot" that they knew and routinely spoke precise, correct English. No, it became, "we'uns and You'uns and us'ns against them'ns.") I regret I cannot quote the source who referred to Detroit as "...the new Black capitol of the world...". If that's the case, Detroit needs more foreign aid than India, Pakistan and Iraq, all as hostile to the United States as is...Detroit. This case is over in form but not in issue. Now, one fears, it moves to the Federal level and the heavily prejudiced justice department run by Eric Holder....

I own a home in Christchurch, New Zealand. I may consider having it opened, aired and made ready for my residence. It's winter there, frost is expected and it's a long, long way from black/white/Hispanic and whoever else feels aggrieved "discussions".

Nullos have already had to make difficult choices with life long consequences so...sure, all nullos. Being on a jury often concerns itself with just those issues. So...why not? They've already had the philosophical, physcologial and physical experience of debate on one or more of those issues, sounds as if they're "fully qualified" at least more than most. I'm thinking jury service....now where's that catheter and, in the deluxe model, my new bridizzo, the one with the slightly rounded surfaces more made for cutting than breaking.

OK everybody, lets calm down.

SEE, River? You didn't even NEED me for THAT ONE!

Maybe NOW young boys will pull up their pants so that their asses no longer hang out and throw off their "hoodies" so that they don't look line the Grim Reaper and people will realize that they are just young boys trying to live their lives and NOT REAL "HOODS"... (...yeah, and maybe PIGS will fly...)

I MUST, however, say this. If George Zimmerman is innocent it STILL doesn't change the FACT that he is a IDIOT. Furthermore, if you don't want to be SHOT, then DON'T walk around with the GANGSTA' look because you may just end up with a headstone NOT FIT for a gangsta, BECAUSE IDIOTS CARRY GUNS...

...and it didn't EVEN happen on the political boards, although it should have...

Los Angeles in riot mode.

Rubber bullets have been fired.

Demonstrators even marched on to the 10 Freeway shutting it down.

At this moment, the NBC helicopter shows they are also marching on Hollywood Blvd at Highland closing down all lanes at 11 PM.

You heard it at EA First

It is 5:14 am and I've just gotten off the phone-for the fourth time-explaining to friends overseas what the hell is going on. This whole ugly incident has, once again, been exploited by foreign interests to show that the United States is a rotten, hateful place. Interestingly, the places that are most confuse are basically nations who do not have the sort of racial problems that are now endemic here. One friend, in Australia, says flat out that he'd get a gun and shoot them like rabbits. This is also not an unusual attitude in New Zealand, Germany, Turkey or so I've found. And I found that because I was told that in very direct, succinct words.

River, I respect your interest in containing discussion that is way off topic but...I respect your right to cloture it but might I suggest that this was there to happen, it wasn't even a rabbit that could be put back in a hat, it just exists as, anymore, the media keeps these things alive and popping; In event a revival of the corn/hog cycle only this times it's news/events. Exploitive is a word we can apply pretty much across the board excepting the Christian Science Monitor and, usually, the Wall Street Journal.

All of us have an opinion, I'd be concerned if we didn't, and isn't this a safer venue? At least at the end we can walk away with our friendships and respect for each other in tact. On the street, in a thousand places there are people who cannot and will not indulge in respect tinged dialogue and it's nice to find a place of which that cannot be said. Thanks for providing that and keeping a firm foot on our necks whilst keeping the other one on the gas.
