[minor, testicles, anorchia]
I've had the honor to beta read the next 3 chapters of this story, and I have to say, it's one of the best stories in amateur fiction that I've ever read so far. It's even better than a few published things I've read.
"Angel" is the story of a street kid in foster care, abused and neglected, who also happens to have been born without testicles.
What happens to him in the system shouldn't (and probably wouldn't) happen to a dog at the animal shelter.
The characters are real and believable, the plot moves forward without being verbose, and the narrative (while it is not a sexual cut/run story) sucks you in and won't let go.
Highly recommended!

Re: Angel by Cainanite
Thank you so much for your kind words. As my beta reader, you've really helped me formulate and crystallize what I want to say with this story. I'm not sure it is as good as your stuff, but I am trying to live up to the high standard of your example.
It will not be a sexual story, so sorry to the fetish fiends out there. Yes, there is a child character who is missing his balls. Yes, there is an adult who has taken an interest in him. No, they will not be having sex.
I want these people to be real, and believable. The system they are both stuck in is very much a reality for a lot of children. There are a lot of parts of this story that will not be pretty. I just hope I can tell the story with honesty and compassion.
I hope my readers stay with me to the end.
Thanks for reading,
Cainanite

I don't read much fiction, on the Archive or anywhere else, but the first chapter of "Angel" looks to be the beginning of a masterpiece. The two main characters are believable and their situation will make for an incredible roller coaster ride of emotions. All I can hope for is a happy ending once they reach the resolution of the story.
I know it's going to be a great read.

I second Paolo's comments. And this story topic seems to me to be a very original idea. You would be unlikely to find a tale like this, whether it be on the EA or elsewhere. And it isn't majorly an 'EA' story, at least at the beginning. The caring nature of the Harry character is what has shone through for me thus far, and you've got to love that Carol.

Re: Angel by Cainanite
Just read chapter one and realised that there is a chapter two.
Chapter one is great and is best thing I have read from the Eunuch Archive.
Well done Cainanite!

You can see the links to the new chapters on the "new stories" thread.
I just beta'd the first part of 9, and it's great.
Even though it's not your typical EA story, it's a wonderful read with great characters that you really feel for.
Quality writing like this doesn't come along at EA very often.
Trust me, I know...

Re: Angel by Cainanite
Cainanite has a gift to be able to write what are seemingly very simple scenes/scenarios, and make them totally engaging to the reader. He doesn't need to write 'action', whether that be with sexual related content or violence (though he also can do these well). Angel is a terrific 'father-son' tale, where each character learns just as much from the other, and loves just as much too. It's exciting to know that there are many other chapters on the way!
