Silent no more...
I hardly know where to begin Ive been quietly reading this forum for so long now I almost I feel I know many of you.
Ive been amazed at the friendship youve show each other and to those Ive seen come and go from this forum.
Several times in the past Ive tried to find the courage to speak up but for one reason or another never found enough confidence to actually send a post.
Anyway, I wish I would have been a contributor in the past so my first post werent a selfish one -- as Im afraid this one maybe.
At any rate, after several years of careful consideration I decided several weeks ago to make an attempt at castrating myself with a burdizzo. I think I was successful in killing my left testicle, as it still has no feeling and seams to be shrinking in size. My right testicle however regained feeling by the next morning and was extremely painful for the weeks that followed.
Perhaps foolishly I decided I had to finish what I had started and several days ago tried re-clamping my right testicle. This time I left the burdizzo on for nearly 30 40 seconds before removing it. The following day the pain wasnt bad at all certainly nothing like it was the first time Id tried. But by day two my scrotum swelled up bigger then I could ever have imagined and became quite painful. My right testicle still has no feeling but my entire scrotum is extremely sore.
Im wondering if any one here has had a similar experience or would share their thoughts on how long it generally takes to know if your testicles are actually dead and not just injured. Im debating whether I should go to see my urologist or continue to endure the pain the best I can and see if my balls actually begin to shrink.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much your long time silent friend,
plik

"When in doubt, see a physician." Especially a Urologist. He can evaluate how much damage has been done to either testicle, and can prescribe pain medication. That would be my advice, but remember the old Alan Sherman song....
"Good advice! Good advice! Costs you nothing, and it's worth the price! I really really doubt, that the world can do without My Good Advice."
(Maybe I'm really dating myself by quoting Alan Sherman?)

Not necessarily true! I checked your profile and do not consider you to be old.Andrew (imported) wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2002 2:51 am (Maybe I'm really dating myself by quoting Alan Sherman?)

Re: Silent no more...
There are several different types of swelling that can occur. A fluid build-up such as a hydrocele can make your testicle swell up to enormous size; however hydroceles are not usually very painful. There are blood-based swelling, where blood is leaking into the scrotum and irritating it. It is quite possible you have something like that if you used the burdizzo. Lastly there is infection swelling. It is usually associated with pus, and the infection-type redness. If you broke the skin, it is possible that you got an infection, but not nearly as likely as from a surgical castration.
I've had both of the first two types. I suggest that it is the second type. I had to miss work for three days because I couldn't even get into the car. It will stop after the blood leakage stops (in my case they were small hemmorages from the testicles themselves).
The infection is the most dangerous type, and definitely requires a doctor immediately.
In all cases an testicular ultrasound can diagnose the problem.

What would Plik tell his urologist, though? If he just says that he clamped his testicles with a burdizzo, there could be problems with psychiatrists, I'm thinking.

So what if there would be problems with psychiatrists? At least we can be sure he will stay alive.

Get to your doctor now, he may not like what you have done but the important thing is that you are checked out. This is nothing to mess with castration is not fantasy which I think you realize. I hope that you have a doctor that is understand. Good luck.

Re: Silent no more...
Thank you all so much for your advice!
So here's what's happened since my last post... On Tuesday I decided not to take any chances and (after lots of waiting for the dr to find a moment to fit me in) finally saw a urologist. I wasn't quite sure what to say - or not to say - i just new i needed to do something.
Anyway, I basically told the Dr that my wife and I had been fooling around and I was afraid we got carried away and had done some serious damage. I told him I was really worried because of all the swelling and pain.
He examined me really quickly and said I had some fluid accumulation and may have caused an infection in my epididymitis. He gave me antibiotics and sent me home, which seamed weird especially since my right nut is ten times the size of Texas right now
Im supposed to go back to see him in 2 weeks
The pain on the right side of my scrotum is still really bad, but the testicle itself feels numb and hard. My left ball has shrunk quite significantly over the past few days I can hardly believe how small its becoming.
For now Im going to try to live through the pain the best I can and see what happens in two weeks. All I know is if anyone reading this is thinking of trying anything like this please listen carefully dont do it! Anyone who says using a burdizzo clamp only hurts for a few moments has either never actually tried or is lying big time! If I knew two weeks ago what I know now I would never have even considered this approach.
Does anyone happen to know if its safe to just let your balls be absorbed by your body? Should I try finding another Dr or go back and request (if you can even do such a thing) a ultrasound?
Thanks again for all the advice and support.

Yes my friend, they can do that and maybe the doctor will on your next visit. My guess is that he wants to get the swelling down before he makes a decision.
I am glad you got to the doctors.
Again good luck and keep us informed.
