Spironolactone + finasteride

Today, I have started with Spironolactone, my doctor prescribed me 50 mg twice a day for the first 5 days and thereafter 50 mg three times a day. It seems like a small dosage, but that's what he suggested. After 10 days I will add finasteride 5 mg a day. I will try to post here as to the results, if any, I will achieve. I am diagnosed with ''excessive sex drive'' and want to get rid of this. Unfortunately, Androcur that I was prescribed last year did not work for me.

Jorge..I have been taking 5 mgs of finasteride for a prostrate problem for over a year now...Six months ago I started on a regimen of 25 mgs, twice daily of spiro (50 mgs total, daily), plus 4 mgs daily of estrogen..My libido has calmed down to a point where I rarely attempt masturbation...and when I do it's a long, drawn out process which sometimes (not always) leads to a very weak and mostly dry, orgasm. I have developed small, large nippled breasts..I feel very content...I cannot get anything like an erection anymore..and my testes seem to have shrunken, perhaps by half..

I used to masturbate 4 times a day, now it's been down to 1, mostly because psychiatric meds I take seem to make reaching orgasm more difficult and I don't wanna waste my time for this procedure. But yes, thoughts about sex disturb me during all wake hours, I also spend way too much time on dating sites (though I know that I won't find anyone anyway).

Perhaps your breasts developing is due to estrogen? Though Spironolactone can cause this, too. If I develop breasts, I will ask my doc to prescribe me Tamoxifen.

Well I fap 10-12 times per day.I'm not even exaggerating on this one. Hyperlibido....doesn't bother me though triggered cuz I find it to be a outlet of relaxation as a result of my stress and depression.

So it's my third week of taking Spironolactone (150 mg a day) and I have added Finasteride 5 days ago. So far, no reduction in libido. I will wait for one more week and then will call my doctor and ask if it is OK to raise the dosage of Spironolactone.

How is your blood pressure?

I ask, because Spiro is commonly used in women as a blood pressure reducing drug.

My systolic BP used to be 140, so quite high. I will measure my BP during the weekend (don't have the device here where I live).

I'm taking Spironolactone 250 mg for second week. Still no effect, the drug probably won't work.
