National Crisis, Banned users and wrong fora...

Post by Charlieje (imported) »

I posted a little editorial a while ago, on a topic I thought to be terribly important. Well, I guess I was very wrong. It seems the only one on this board who took notice at all, had an issue with the forum to which I had posted.

I am sorry, Happousia but I disagree strongly! The subject of our national security and personal safety is VERY relevant to all of us, eunuch or not!

However, I must bow to the majority. My post is where it belongs now, not that it matters because it is closed anyway. I might be slightly thick, but sooner or later I do get the hint.

I apologize to any and all I have offended or made uncomfortable.

Bye, Y'all!

Oh, good Lord, Charlieje ... get a grip. I'd hate to have to get that wet trout out.

I moved the post because of its political content, not at Happ's suggestion, and I didn't have time to reply to it at that moment.

In case anyone's wondering, these small, loud, noisey, smelly things that look like short human males took up most of my time this weekend, and then it was time to go to work again.

It's not locked up either, you just can't reply to a 'redirect' notice. That keeps the original post from being lost.

We were discussing the same issues at work today, to be brief, about how one of the main points is probably the Taliban's aim to set America to more internal strife ... i.e., the White Rednecks shooting anyone who ain't white 'cuz he must be a terrorist then. Doing bills this evening, I was also thinking about how much we DO have and how much we, as Americans, take for granted. If I'm hungry, I can drive to town and pull my VISA out on a drive through clerk ... in less fortunate countries I'd be chasing a cat on foot and have to skin him out when I caught him.

You make some very good points.

Your post raised some very valid issues, and I'm sorry that I didnt' have time to reply to it right off.

Please PM me if there's more to it than this. I think I can settle your nerves a bit...

Ok all you guys ... STOP!

I have been out of town since Thursday and this is what I come back too.

There are more people participating. I see new nicks posting all the time, and more and more posts from some of our shyer members.

Yes, we try to keep things relatively organized and peaceful. That's the mandate to the message board moderators from me. No one of us has the time to keep an eye on all areas of the Archive. Yes, it was different when it was just me, but those days are long gone.

It may be that we (Paolo, talula, and I) need to review and rethink the moderation policies as the board grows, and it may well be that the way I would handle it isn't the way it gets handled. However, I have turned over some of those responsibilities to people who care deeply about the Archive and whose opinion I trust.

Your input is welcome as long as it's done in a polite (ie not "You stupid f*cks ...") manner.

What I am really tired of though are "He/She/It offended me so I am going away and never coming back" posts.

Everyone is welcome here, and some people, like Charlie, I don't know what I would do if they left.

But I (we) can't control everyone. The boards are a live, living, interactive environment where you may get your feelings hurt once in a while because someone gasp! may disagree with you.

That is the kind of free, open, and honest discussion that the boards afford.

Personal attacks, intentionally trying to hurt someone, and yes those categories can include non-constructive criticisms of the "management" here at EA are (1) uncalled for and (2) off topic and will be dealt with accordingly.

So there you have it. Play nice or don't play at all.

Charlie ...

It could be read from your comment that you are somehow going away. Don't. Please.

Why everything went to hell in a handbasket while I was out of town I have no idea.

Please everyone just take a deeeeeeeeeeep breath ... for both this thread and any other incidences that have happened recently.

The 'Eunuch' boards are for eunuch and castration discussions, and the other boards, like the Cellar are for ... well 'Other' discussions.

Having a post moved from Eunuch Central to the Cellar isn't a demotion, it just keeps things more in line with the theme of the area in which they are posted.

The Cellar isn't a 'backwater' ... new posts show up there just like everywhere else.

Where in the hell is the "Eunuch Calm"?

Does testosterone make you more or less sensitive?

I have had posts moved from the Eunuch Central to the Cellar.

HELL!! I'm probably the reason why we have a cellar!

Lighten up, Charlie. We all still love & respect you.

We all have to stop taking ourselves so seriously...

Charlie,

Don't leave over such a trivial thing.

There are many people who are quick to criticize any comment or question that is not in total agreement with their views. Also, our words and thoughts are not always understood by all. Honest comments and questions are frequently taken as derogatory.

We must all have open minds and always give others the benefit of any reasonable doubt.

Your participation is beneficial to all - DO NOT LEAVE!

Hey, wouldn't that be a nice way of "mild" punishment?

Lock them into the cellar for, let's say a month...🚬

Just a suggestion...🐫 😎

I'm not sure, but I know that with the US residents still about equally divided on liking the current regime vs. those who don't, I would say it's probably a good idea to keep any political discussions off the archive and keep more to what our common bond is.

There are plenty of places on the Internet to pick up whatever political view one wishes to discuss. I think I'll stick to those when I want to participate in political discourse and other related activities.

Suffice it to say I think we all have different opinions. I think this is a good thing, as the country (USA) and the world would be a rather boring place if we all thought exactly the same way.

Maybe we should debate about the taste of Cheetos or something. :D

Well, I originally created THE CELLAR as a place where we could discuss about anything and drift on and off topic and throw rocks at one another and enjoy it. It was also to try and keep the other Boards and such on topic for SAID Board. I guess it wasn't such a good idea, now, looking back.

I* still think it's a very good idea, because:

I* don't want to go to a castration-board to discuss castration issues only with castratis , to a political board to discuss politics with politicians and to a cat lover-board to discuss pussys with sodomists. And that is important.

While I might leave out the sodomy discussion with politicans, I love to mention castration with cat lovers and have to know the political oppinion of castrati!

The other way you will always have intellectual inbreeding.

And.

You never get to know your opposite.

We are all persons with issues and interests beside castration.

If I want at all, I want to get to know to persons, not only to on-topic-remarks.

Even when I'm interested in on-topic-remarks I want to learn who I'm talking to; That's important to evaluate what he/she says.

So this cellar is one of the best ideas you ever had (? *g), I say that.

That's also to cultivate on aspect what makes this place special!

Special people.

Who have more to say than "I would/would not use an elastrator", etc...

And then we still can lock A-1 up, together with his naked mother and sister... 🤘 🤕🥊 🚬

:D
