Testosterone does make you lose hair, and mine is receding a lot (and sure I would like to have it back). But guess what? When you've actually embraced your masculinity and shaped your body into a nice specimen it turns out women don't really care about the hair that much. Plus short shave hair is perfectly acceptable nowadays and there have been studies that show that people perceive it to be a more dominant, virile look. When you're muscular, energetic and filled with sexual energy women will notice that. By the way, most Hollywood leading actors with "great hair" actually are mostly bald -- Google pictures of John Travolta or Nicholas Cage's true hair.
In fact I will go as far as to say that if you channel your testosterone properly you will get a huge boost in self-esteem. You'll be top dog in social situations, dominant in the boardroom, impressive in the gym (and bedroom).
Think about what you're saying -- that your vanity is worth you considering seriously tampering with the way your body chemistry works. Is it really? I've been a big supporter for people who truly need castration to help them (I'm the one that started this thread!) but the truth is that disrupting your testosterone without transitioning to estrogen has serious health effects. You will basically have a body and mentality of a post-menopausal woman! That means moodiness/depression, low energy, muscle loss, fat gain, brittle bones, dry vagina (well you don't have to worry about that one...). So you should only embark on this path if it is the only way.
Now if you're going to take estrogen, that is fine but understand that that will feminize you. Is that what you want?
Are you really, really sure that either case (castrated with or without estrogen supplementation) is better than being fully realized as a man (even if that means a bald one)?
Please think very carefully about this. Have you really tried to be the best man you could be before you gave up on being one? Did you try the stuff I wrote about -- embracing your sexuality, doing masculine things, doing intense exercise and thrill seeking, etc.?
Sorry for being so direct, but what you're doing is serious and it is important to sort out your priorities and objectively look at what you're in for.
Again, if you actually have identity issues where you don't want to be male then that's a different story. But so far what you've written sounds different (you've talked about hypersexuality and talked about hair loss issues).
That is some of the best advice that I've ever seen here. a bald, virile man is way sexier than a fluffy guy with beautiful hair. I think he may want to explore his reasons at a deeper level and really seek out why he desires castration. You may want to actually look at other things to lower your libido besides lowering T levels. You may do well on Prozac or another SSRI. BTW, what kind of reaction did you have from the spiro that almost killed you? Lowering T and taking E is no guarantee that your libido will drop. I have low T and estrogen really fires up my libido so don't take it as a certainty that that is your answer.
