If you look at the studies, the testosterone dropped over time including between 45 days and 60 days, so it is supposed to be gradual. secondly until you hit actual castrate levels you may not experience things like hot flashes. Finally some effects take a while to build up before becoming pronounced. So you can't make a full conclusion about effectiveness until 60 days and it is not a linear thing -- half testosterone levels might not feel like half castrated.

On the other hand, the three other people I know who injected around the same time (four to five weeks ago) are reporting something similar -- that their balls have shrunk a bit, gotten hard, and have changed shape by flattening somewhat. But no impressive shrinkage like the remnants promised in the animal studies.

So need to be patient to be conclusive but it could turn out to not be full castration.

However, are you sure you don't feel less horny? Maybe it is a placebo effect but the other guys are reporting a marked drop in libido.

The effects of low (no) testosterone might sneak up on you. You could be experiencing the gradual onset of testosterone deprivation without realizing that it is happening until one day you notice things are just not the same as they once were. --FLO--

I wouldn't say less, I've noticed a slight difference in that department, but it's kind of hard to explain. Like, it's not less, but when it happens it feels slightly different (actually, to be honest it hurts a bit). I have been told I have unusually (his words) high testosterone by a doctor (he didn't say the exact number, I was having some issues with feeling lightheaded and some other things, I had a lot of tests and in the end we didn't find the cause). Thing is, I don't actually... act on those feelings. So it could be it has dropped in a way, but because I don't... do that it might be harder to notice. Sorry, not exactly used to talking about this!

Not much else has happened since I last posted (I know it hasn't been long, but heh!). I don't know if I'm supposed to have noticed testosterone dropping yet or not, because I haven't. Haven't had anything like hot flashes either (which I've heard you're supposed to). Are there any other signs that it might be working that anyone knows of? Am I just being impatient (lol)? I'm just worried because I really don't want to have to do that again, nor do I want to try any other methods...

Some never get hot flashes but slowly lose interest in sex. It all happens between 2 week and 2 months and your mileage will very.

None. Don't do it.

Despite my enthusiasm on this thread, I have to say that at this point it is not recommended for a number of reasons. Besides not being a good idea to do any self-harm or self-performed medical procedure, everyone should wait until we have the results from the brave pioneers Something and BrookTS. In about 5 weeks we'll know whether the method is even effective on humans.

Furthermore, the amount of pain during the initial days of swelling is more than the literature on animals led one to believe. They reported zero rise in cortisol in animals (even though they did have swelling and walked with a stiff gait for a couple days) as indicator of no real pain or stress. But humans, who can actually describe what they feel seem to all say that there is significant ache and tenderness.

So right now, it is an unproven method with more pain than hoped. If it proves achieve conclusive castration, then that pain might be worth it (up to individual) since all methods, including proper surgical castration, alcohol injections, burdizzo and elastrator, all seem to have even greater significant recovery pain. But we're not there yet.

In terms of your actual question though, the theory is that the injection is only needed once (if properly dosed) to achieve permanent effective castration. At least that is what happens quite consistently in animals subjected to the method.

Please take SplitDik's advice and wait a few weeks until the results are in on Something and myself. Even then, this is a highly experimental task fraught with unknown risks that could put someone in the hospital or even worse, the grave, if things are done in haste. I proceeded only after a great deal of introspection and only after thoroughly reading all of the literature I could get my hands on, including those articles generously posted by other members. I also have a close connection to someone in the veterinary field and was able to ask questions about CACL injections (without raising any red flags) so that I could better understand the process and how CACL works on soft tissue. I am well aware of the fact that I was playing with fire, but I took the risk based on educated analysis mixed with a bit of lunacy and an appetite for risk. Mind you, I do not have a death wish and have a great deal to lose if things went/go awry, but it is a risk I was willing to take for myself and others. I will post my progress, or lack thereof, until definitive results have been reached. So sit back and relax knowing that, in about four weeks or so, you will know whether or not this method can potentially offer a relatively safe and effective means of self-castration.

With that said, over to Brooke for the weekly update... :O)

Okay, so it is a week to the day (short about 9 hours or so) since I injected each side with 1.7 ml of CACL/Everclear and let me tell you it has not been all fun and games! The pain the first few days was difficult (but not impossible) to endure with walking being the biggest pain in the balls (literally). I tried the tightest panties I have to help mitigate the pain and sometimes it provided relief, other times it did not. Day 7 finds my testicles still extremely sensitive to the touch (especially in and around the Epididymis and the spermatic cords) but walking is not much of an issue any longer. However, last night I went to bed with little discomfort and woke up in the middle of the night with my left testicle aching very badly. Ibuprofen to the rescue :O).

Are there any changes I've noticed? None, since it is much too soon for anything like that in my opinion. I think subtle changes will start to show around the end of the second week of so. However, I do seem to get the chills from time to time and I get a consistent burning feeling going on down below (the salt seems to be doing its job). The only other issue I am currently experiencing happens when I sit down for a while and then go to stand up when, suddenly, it feels like my spermatic cords are being torn in two! It is a sharp, stabbing pain in the inguinal area that normally subsides in about 30 seconds or so and then I am able to go about my business.

Got 2 go! Be well and be safe! If any noticeable changes take place I will be sure to post them otherwise I'll be back in a week or so. If anyone has questions feel free to post and I will try to answer them ASAP. :O)

Figured I should post about this, today I was feeling them to see if they felt any different, and I touched the back of the left one and it hurt (not too much, but a fair amount) until I moved my finger. About five minutes later it started hurting in a pulsating way (again, not that bad, but noticable). The pulsating is getting faster (originally it was like once per five seconds it got to its worst, now it's once every three). I don't know why that's happening.

Oh, and there's something else I wanted to say but keep forgetting. It's nothing new, but the left one is shaped differently to the right. Around where the cords connect, it sticks out slightly before the cords start, this isn't happening on the right.

Also, lust-ocd, my guess is we don't act on those feelings, but for completely different reasons xD
