One of the reasons high proof alcohol works is that it won't support bacterial or microbial or viral life. Alcohol is deadly to germs and such...
Calcium Chloride in powder form in a chemistry set might contain contaminants like heavy metals or simple germs. There's no way to make it sterile to inject. And if you mix it with TAP WATER you are asking for a bad infection. Tap Water contains all sorts of impurities that the stomach doesn't pass into the blood stream.
Even distilled water might not be sterile enough because it wasn't made for the purpose of injecting into the body.
Be SURE you get solution that is free of trace metals and free of other biological material.
Better yet, get a solution that is intended for medical use and is sold and marked as sterile.
You know than to make a solution for injection - clean, and more cleaning. If a person is not careful it's their fault. As far as the purity it all is reagent grade from bulk supplies no heavy metals or other stuff. Now if it has been opened or used all bets are off.
Like I said, If the person thinks their a victim that is their problem, for taking the risk
