This story is precious and not worth its' own thread.

So an omnibus thread, maybe, to be filled with other examples of

Iranian news agency duped by Onion story on Obama poll

Iran's leading news agency published a mock poll that claimed rural whites in the U.S. favored Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over president Barack Obama.

The mock poll was originally published on a popular U.S. media site, The Onion.

he Onion site quoted a fictitious Gallup Poll that noted "77 percent of rural Caucasian voters...would much rather go to a baseball game or have a beer with Ahmadinejad...than spend time with Obama."

FARS led its story with that statement and even quoted someone from the Onion piece, West Virginia resident Swiderski, saying of Ahmadinejad, "I like him better."

The story was live on the FARS website early on Friday afternoon but was no longer available by 1:30 p.m. ET. The link to FARS goes to an earlier screen grab of the story that had been on the FARS website. ๐Ÿ˜„

The article goes on.

Pretty good, huh?

I got an email about six months ago from 'da boss' asking if the attached photo could be true. The photo shows Bernanke getting drunk in a rural Nebraska beer bar and saying the world economy was going to hell. If you looked closely, you could PhotoShop in action. It turned out it was from the Onion.

I wonder how many Americans would take Onion stories literally if they heard of them. Probably quite a few. That's who stands behind Obama.

About once a year THE ONION catches someone in its humor. It amazes me how wickedly good their satire is.

They only get caught once and then they never get spoofed again.

U.N. chief duped by prank call from fake Canadian PM

Reuters ย– Thu, Sep 27, 2012

"UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - A pair of Canadian radio comedians said on Thursday it took them less than an hour to get U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the phone during international diplomacy's busiest week - by pretending to be Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Ban was between meetings at the U.N. General Assembly of world leaders on Wednesday when he took a phone call from Quebec comedy duo "The Masked Avengers," famous for tricking celebrities and politicians. . . ."

How about that Arnold of California?

It doesn't get much better. Lots of links, go search. suggest using the last name, Schwarzenegger.

Schwarz would reference, "black" to possible, to blacken for a verb

I wonder what the eneger translates to. On investigation, nothing unless you drop the "e", then you have the German word for a dark person. " black, darkey, black person; (Anthropology) African-American; member of a Black or dark-skinned African race".

So Arnold's last name in German invokes darkness twice and on many levels.

Maybe the family name has to do with a black morality running in the blood; like pandering to a book sale on others' privacy and dignity.

And Brigitte Nielsen! ๐Ÿช†

She came to America to stalk and successfully she did, Sylvester Stallone.

In those years, Sylvester and Arnold were not on good terms. I remember Arnold saying Sly was too competitive and just not a nice guy. Then again in those years the Farignos did not speak with Arnold because of Arnold's joking about a deaf man's speech.

Who is NOT the nice guy?

All so juicy for such a nice guy. It doesn't get much better then . . ;)
